curling leaves on impatiens

Marietta, GA

Almost all of my potted impatiens have curling top leaves and diminished or deformed flowers. I had this same prob years ago but forgot what it was and what I did for it. Any ideas? Thx for any help!!

What type of light conditions do you have them under and how much water are they receiving?

Flowerjen - bright, mostly indirect sunlight - some morning direct sunlight - adequate water - weekly feeding with 10-60-10 when watering - I think I'm doing everything right. I have sprayed them with a fungicide hoping that would help. I simply forgot what causes this prob! thx for ur interest and help flowerjen!

Sounds like you're doing everything right. Did you use potting soil?

flowerjen - yes - Miracle Gro Potting Mix - sigh - know most folks 'outgrow' impatiens but I just love them! So many varieties and colors! Thx for ur interest dear.

Doesn't Miracle Grow potting mix already have fertilizer in it? Maybe your additional once a week fertilizing is too much. Just a guess.

Are you applying that 10-60-10 at full dilution every week (I mean full strength dilution per label instructions, not full strength right out of the container) If so then it could be too much fertilizer--if you're going to fertilize that frequently you need to dilute it more than it says on the package--1/4 strength or so would probably be best. I'd lay off the fertilizer for a bit and see if things get better. There's not that much fertilizer in the MG soil so for best results you will need supplemental fertilizer on top of it, but probably not as much as you've been using.

thank you all for your suggestions - I've quit fertilizing and am continuing to spray for fungi - they look like they are recovering :)
