Purple heart and perennial peanut, together?

I am trying to add color to the front walk area of my home and believe that these two plants will do well as the area gets sun all day and heat reflected off the sidewalk. Purple heart - tradescantia pallida and perennial peanut - arachis glabrata. Does anyone know if they will grow well together without one overgrowing the other?
