My new columbine, Songbird Goldfinch, is starting to get some red on the edges of the leaves. Is it burning up in the sun, or is this normal?
Is my columbine okay?
Is it getting too much water? The new growth looks good.
Is it possible to water it too much? Our soil is pretty sandy since we live by a river and I've been making sure to water it about every 2-3 days. I check the soil with my finger to see if it's dry.
Mine was getting that way also. I keep them in containers as they're not really meant to be grown in South Florida. Moved the containers to an area with much less sun, trimmed off the older foliage with the red coloration and just left the new lower growth. They are filling in nicely and the foliage is all green again.
