I live in a gated community & have been contemplating growing Morning Glories in back of my house along the fenceline. I know this plant is quite intrusive and a pain to get rid of. I have been told they grow on a vine, so my question is, will they stay along the fence & spread or will they creep into people's back yards?
A Question About Morning Glories
if you train them to go on the fence and keep them on the fence you should be ok. also you can pick the pods while they are green if you dont want to collect the seeds. you can also put like a blanket under it to catch seeds.
i train mine on the fences. usually once the vines start and find the fence they go up it. just once they start vining put them on the fence or gently start wrapping them on the fence then they will grow on it.
I agree with imzadi, they'll become invasive if you allow them to reseed themselves. I just pick the seed off and use to trade and for the next seasons vines.
if you want seeds please wait till the pods are brown and papery. the green seeds pods arent delevoled yet and was saying if you dont want seeds then pick them off while green.
sorry.. I left that part out...lol. yes, wait u til the seed pods turn brown and dry. the blanket method that imzadi mentioned before is a good way to catch them when they are ready.
