DAILY PICS VOLUME 327

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

I couldn't believe they'd just spread the wings and then wait for the next one in the circle to do the same thing.

Good pic of the House Finch GG!

Mount Pleasant Mills, PA(Zone 5a)

Hack, actually I took that finch picture with a small JVC Camcorder and just saved one of the clips. It has 27X zoom on it. A bit grainy, but sure is colorful.

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

GG, it did come out pretty good.

Well, all, I went out today and the sun came and went.

I spotted this Brown Thrasher, juvy I think, up high on a limb soaking up the sun.

Even though this male House Finch was facing away, and never did turn around, I snapped the shutter anyway.

Nice shots all!!

Quote from TheHackster :
Burd_Fotos - I really like your set on the Great Egret. Let me aske, with the last two, with the fish being eaten, were you shooting in burst mode? Your pic detail a real good. Oh, yeah, you mentioned the converter, did you have it on, and if so, did you get to use auto focus?

Hack, I used the 1.4x converter and auto-focus the whole time and I had the camera on continuous shooting mode which I always use for bird's in flight or trying to capture some action. When using a high ISO to obtain some shutter speed I also set my ISO noise reduction to strong...(this slows down your continuous shot's) but you can get off a few before the slowdown.

Here are 2 shots back to back, Great Egret tossing down a tadpole.

Nice shots Hack and Burd!

Mount Pleasant Mills, PA(Zone 5a)

Beautiful cardinals Hack.

Oh my goodness Burd--the pictures are wonderful, and I love the description you included re. eating the tadpole! HA!

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

Burd_Fotos - Thanks for the info. I don't use my 1.4x converter all that much, I'm usually pretty close as it is. I do keep my camera on continuous shooting mode, but I usually just do a single snap - mainly because it is tedious going through 50 gazillion pics to find the ones I like. I also like using a high ISO to obtain some shutter speed and also set my ISO noise reduction to strong, also.

The two back to back shots of the Great Egret tossing down a tadpole were terrific.

Nice pics hugger! Love the boulders too.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Hack, great variety once again! You're lucky to have that your Downy at the suet so often. The Cardinals sure are beautiful birds.

Burd, great job with that egret.

Nanny, that bb sure looks interested in something-cute!

Hugger, great series of Cowbirds bathing. Pretty Oriole also.

This Oriole (Bullock's I think) looked pretty waiting a turn at the feeder.

Last one... another from our day of watching the Pileated trio fledge.
When the female left the hole the first time, she landed in the leaves.
She quiickly made her way to the tree and climbed back up though.
