Sounds good Sharon. Sharon you mentored under Don Rickles in what? Did you have a secret passion to be a stand up?????
Yes on occasion we do have those winds, but we now have about March, April and May windy months that are normally anywhere from 20 to 50 mile an hour winds. My hollyhocks hold up in some areas and not in others. I have most on the sheltered side of the house and the ones that are not, mostly stood up to them for some reason, this year.
Plant propagation part XVI based on my own experience
Linda, you tell your DH that plants are not furniture. LOL funny.
That is a beautiful dl Linda.
Wait a minute, Sharon, didn't you say your husband went with your son's family to Spokane? Or did I dream that? I thought you said it was up to your dil to see that he got his liquids. etc.
What were you doing with Don Rickles Sharon? Come on, tell all. I didn't read anything about that. Dawn just let the cat out of the bag. LOl
Hey you guys, Cathy is taking orders for neem oil on the coop. Think she is cutting it off at 25 people if any of you are interested. 100% Dyna-Gro. $27 something + paypal fees I think she said. Anyway, comes to $28 something.
It looks like she has about half of the orders now. She just opened it either last night or this morning.
good morning everyone:
not much new going on. I have tried starting hostas from seed but i have not had any luck with them. I wish I knew what I was doing wrong. I have a packet of seeds I am going to try the towel method to start the last packet I have.
its funny, I can make just about anything sprout but when it comes to hosta seeds I fall flat on my face.
Linda: are you pollening the unknown dl with its self? I have started doing that on a few of my prized DL's
well we got some rain this am and I am glad to see it.
have a great day
Dave
What a way to start the day. Sunday morning carpet shampoo time. My carpets were so bad from the dog's illness that my girl that works for me said she could not stand them an8y longer, so she got out her Big old Bissell carpet cleaner and wow, what a machine that is. The carpet looks wonderful.....no marks no stains and almost dry. This machine sucks up most of the water, I am so happy. I was feeling really down because I hate a messy looking house.
Had the irrigation on the veggie garden again and on the new little sweetshrubs....the kids went to Home Depot to get more irrigation supplies for the big field. This 90 deg.
weather and wind is really deadly.
Well you youngsters, you must remember I grew up in Las Vegas. Yes I moved here in 1960 at the age of 18 from a very small mining town. When I worked for an advertising agency we would get due bills for shows for some of the advertising along with restaurant coupons for free meals. One night I was out with a fine gentleman from Connecticut seeing Frank Sinatra show when "Jimmy the Greek" saw me. His office was next door to the advertising agency I worked for and I went to lunch with his secretary so that is how I new the #1 odds maker in town. Anyway the next day he called and wanted to know why I was with Frank Piccolo. I said I was having dinner and seeing a show. He said, "NO, I mean what are you doing with Frank Piccolo". He is the #2 guy for the mob in Connecticut. Then proceeded to tell me a few stories and I never returned his phone calls again. But he was a gentleman.
. So I saw Don Rickels many many times at a very young age. I was 21 because you could not get in if you were not. I was not a stand up comic but I did become very quick on the draw with come backs. Mostly kind but every once in a while, if you crossed me, you would get a zinger.
I used that skill to teach mortgage lending classes to Realtors. They did not remember anything I taught them but they did remember my style and sense of humor. I was known as "The Barracuda", by my competition and "Mother" by my clients.
I got the plants moved into the back landscape and then decided I did not like the color of the pots so I painted all the pots.
so they had to dry.
Jnette, you are confused. Vern went to see his daughter in Vancouver, Washington. I may have said DIL, but was not correct. DH actually said he felt the best yesterday that he had for a long time. I guess my witch doctor voodoo concoction may be working.
I with you JBerger. There is nothing worse on the landscape that high temperatures and wind. My front lawn area is white clover and dycronda. I looked at it yesterday around 5 and it was not happy. Got the hose and just hand sprayed it and it looked much happier.
Have a great day.
Hello to all !!! Montana has finally caught up to the "spring" time. Been over 70 this last week here, still little on cool side for us, but better than the 50s we had been having. Jeanette, I have two of your morning glory tree seeds that have reached about 6" and some of the other seeds have just been looking at me with their weepy little leaves wanting their blankie. Dave, some of yours are doing the same, hopefully with the weather warming they will venture up and out. I was at Walmart couple of days ago, they had their houseplant palms on closeout at 1$ each, so I promptly bought a few. Normally these are around $13. Put them in that outdoor room I told you guys about, between house and garage, looks pretty tropical again this year thanks to them. The hibiscus are about 5" in their pots, so maybe they will still get enough time to grow and bloom. My oleander trees are finally going to bloom this year. I threatened them with cold winter if they didn't mind. As it is, most of mine need to come in for the winter. What a pain, especially when they die on me in spring after all that work over those months. they had a tornado touch down about 30 miles and also about 150 miles away. First time in over 50 years they have had one in Montana. My what is this weather doing to all of us. Just when you thinks it is safe, something else comes in to upset things. I am glad you are all doing well, even with your aches and etc. My back and neck are still real pains, but I have been taking my time, getting some things done some have to wait.Mr S stays with me always, some days worse than others. I know Dave will understand that one.
Stay well everyone
Lee
we are on the move again. Please check in
