i seem to remember something in a past blogg about killing weeds with boiling salt water....has anyone tried this? does it really work? and what is the ratio of salt to water? guess i'm just having "another sr. moment"!

I wouldn't use salt water--that'll be bad for your soil and could hurt the plants you want to keep or anything that you might plant there after you get the weeds out. Plain old boiling water will kill the foliage--but if you have perennial weeds with tap roots they'll probably still be able to come back since the boiling won't get all the way down to the roots. For annual weeds it can work though as long as you're able to get the pot out to the garden while it's still close enough to boiling.
