Hi everyone. I found a large larvae-type bug in the dirt around my potatoes. They're gray in color and about half an inch or larger in size. It's my first time growing potatoes and so I have no clue what it is. If anyone knows could you also tell me what, if anything, I can do about them? preferably something organic. Thanks so much
what is this big larvae in dirt around poatoes?
Can you post a picture?
I haven't seen it. but sounds like a tater bug larvae but more than likey it's a grub try my Bug spray posted Bug-Be-Gone. grubs don't like it at all nor do much of any thing else as far as that goes LOL
Difficult to say without a picture but it may be a cutworm. They are usually gray or brown about 3/4-1.5 inches long and kind if shiny. They feed on roots and stems of plants at night and hide just under the soil during the day. Look up cutworms on the internet and you will surely find photos.
