I've slowly built my flower garden around an amaryllis I received 4 Christmases ago. I garden in Texas so winter survival has never been an issue. The plant has propogated wondrously on it's own over the years. But this year things are different -- I've got TONS of leafy green but no flower buds in the works. NOT ONE! Do amaryllis do this periodically? or is something else up?

its probably that the big momma bulb has finally died off and now you have the babies growing. the babies probably arent big enough to bloom yet. they have to be a certain size to bloom

Have you removed the baby blubs from the mother. Maybe they need to be on their own inorder to bloom.
