The zoo has a thriving Woodstork rookery.

My son found this hummer nest a few weeks ago. The wiley hummer built in the wisteria that is by my potting table. I took this one photo, but I think the chicks have hatched. I don't want to draw too much attention to the nest, so I'm ignoring her and hoping she gets used to me. I am pretty sure I saw her feeding them today. Will keep you posted.
Not birds yet, but hoping they will be. : - )
BTW, I enjoy all your photos. They are a real treat!
Thank you!

Very cool SingingWolf!

Nice having you aboard Singingwolf and bsharf. How wonderful to see hummingbirds' nest. Adorable Woodstorks babies. Wow!

This one is for SusanL, my Brown Thrasher with something on its beak. She/he impatiently waiting for me to leave so it can return to the nest and feed his mate.

Nice one Lily!!

Love those shots of the Sparrow and baby. Those Wood Storks are quite attractive when little. Everyone is posting nice shots. I don't have many birds here this time of year, plus it is getting too hot to stay out long, so not posting much.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

It's heating up down here too GP, I've to jump into the water to keep cool when out side at any lenghth.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Duc, I meant to let you know, I ooohhh and ahhhh over your little fawn, how precious. And the Sparrows, one fine parent they make! Great capture.

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

I've really enjoyed all the great pics, and some are from a few birders who are new to me.

nanny_56 - I've been overrun with juvies, too. I liked your pics of the nuthatch and Downy babies.

ducbucln - were did I began? All your stuff is great. I thought the fawn was sweet, even though the deer here are killing me. I looked out the window last night and 4 were chowing down. I hollered and they ran off. AND that pic of the male HOSP feeding his youngster was priceless.

bsharf - Welcome to Davesgarden - you up-loaded a ton of fantastic pics, too. The Lone Scarlet Ibis gets the blue ribbon from me.

SingingWolf - Welcome to Davesgarden, too. Any kin to Dances with .... never mind. I hope you take pics regularly and let us share the hatching of the hummers.

Lily_love - I didn't even know I had a breeding pair of Brown Thrashers - until I saw the fledglings. Nice shot of one of your Brown Thrasher parents.

I always enjoy watching the antics of a Carolina Chickadee.

Haven't seen any fledglings, but I have had a few female Downy Woodpeckers, and males, too, feeding regularly. The mainly visit one feeder and I'm always replacing the suet.

I'm always happy to see an Eastern Towhee. This male is looking sharp.

Goldfinch tempers flared at the feeder. For some reason the male didn't want to share.

I caught this female House Finch arriving at the feeder.

Love your pic of the Eastern Towhee Hack!

Now this was plumb funny. Dad was enjoying a meal and junior showed up. The youngster was a bit demanding and for just a little while dad put up with it. But dad soon left and baby had to fend for itself. Look at the next pic.

Doesn't it look plum pitiful, I can almost hear it whining - "Who's gonna feed me?."

Good nice and clear images of each. Fine job Hack. My Brown Thrashers are onto the second brood. So are the Carolina Wrens (those that I've seen the nests). I noticed that they don't turn around and re-use the old nest in one season. Although they do come back a later year to the same one. My B.T. first brood was located at a sideyard shrub. This one was built in a mere two days atop my rose arbor. And it appears they're incubating at present--again. ^_^

Hack, that is absolutely priceless! I'd swear that bird was pouting!

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

Thanks, pelle. I always "sit up" when a Towhee hops out of the underbrush.

Ahhh, birds are better than human on "tough love". It's precisely "Teach your kid to fish and not bring them fish when they whine" lol.

Thanks Lily, but let me ask you. Where do you find the B Thrasher nests. I haven't yet peeked and poked around trying find any of mine. So, I'm wondering, do I concentrate on the ground or in a bush.

Cute baby Card, Hack.

I'm jealous of the Hummer nest!

There is a Cardinal nesting in my grape trellis on the back porch and a Mississippi Kite nesting in my front yard, so hopefully, I can catch some pics of them.

For now, I'm really enjoying the numerous baby Blue Jays. They are so cute! I'll post a few pics.

I'm sorry this pic is so dark. I was playing with my camera settings. Obviously, what I was trying didn't work, but you can see the 1 adult and 4 juvie Blue Jays. If you look in the background you can see another Blue Jay flying away, too.

Good ones nanny! Love the Downy and Red-bellied!

This morning the Chickadees brought their family to the half broken tree. I could here the sweet juvys crying as the parents went back and forth getting them suet and seeds. I was never able to get a good look at the little ones as they had them tucked in deep behind the leaves but it sure was great to hear them.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

TBM, I've had a rough time catching a single Blue Jay pix, let's along a whole family! Thanks for sharing your pics. Nan, let's swap some woodpeckers. A Redheaded for a Pileated? lol. I've Downy, Redheads, Redbellied but no Pileated wps here. Your Mrs. Redbellied is cute.

Hack, I went out to take a pic. of the shrub that the BTs have built their nest there two years in a row. Guess what I found; all because of you, my friend! Thank you. Who said things happened by chances? I found these two Northern Flickers were deep into conversation:

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Okay Nan. How about some 'Black & Blue' Salvia and maybe some flowering Maples (in the background) to go with the trade? LOL.
