Hi, I'm new here and have enjoyed reading the posts, some very good information here! Hopefully someone can please tell me when to prune back a Pineapple Guava, it is more than a bush, getting about 15'tall, in to the tree mode. It is getting rather leggy and I cannot find any info on when is the proper time to prune it back.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Roux
Question about Pineapple Guava
Hello Roux, with a name like roux, you must be from my neck of the woods!! I had a Pineapple Guava but I lost it in the floods of Allision. I would think the best time to prune this would be in the winter months. I will check with the grower I bought mine from this morning and post back to let you know.
Roux, I just spoke with the grower I brought mine from. He told me the best time to prune is in the late summer.

Thank you Lisa, guess I missed it for this year :o( and yup I live in your neck of the woods, up above Covington. How you are? LOL! Thanks again for the info.
Ha! Roux, I bought my Guava from 'Covington Nursery'. They are a place we do business with!! I am doing great, nice weather we have been having! Nice break from all the rain.
Small world heh, Lisa? Yes, unusual for us to have these cool temps this early in the year and humidity below 200% Oh, and we are almost at the end of hurricane season, life is good. Acktchooly we could use a little rain, I've noticed the crawfish have abandoned their holes and moved to Florida...but looks like there is a chance Friday for a little.
Roux, close down dat interstate...don't let dem mud bugs escape!!!
