We live out in the woods (no lawn, but garden beds and trees). Periodically we get what I have always called wood roaches - not the big urban German cockroaches - but small brown things that like to turn up dead in the closets with an occasional live one. Has anyone else dealt with these?
Wood roaches coming into house
These come under the category of accidental but annoying intruders; control seldom if ever is warranted, for as a general rule, they will not colonize indoors. The males fly very well, and may come indoors when attracted to lights at night; try keeping outdoor lighting (especially next to entryways) at a minimum.
