A couple of days ago we had a 20 minute hail storm. I had already planted the tomatoes, eggplants, and hot peppers. Everything looks shredded. I was wondering if I should start all over or try to nurse the plants back to health. Help please, because after this weekend is over it doesnt look like any of the big box stores will have any plants left.
Help! Hail
If you post some pictures someone could probably give you a better answer, but most likely they'll be fine. Depending on how bad the damage is it might set them back a little bit while they recover & put out new growth so you may have to wait a little longer for tomatoes, etc, but just based on your description I expect that they should recover. Just make sure that "nursing them back to health" doesn't lead you to overwater, overfertilize, etc...they will fix themselves without you having to go to special lengths.
the tomotoes and hot peppers will probably spring back. my hot peppers got sat in scorching sun. looked like sticks but now have new leaves. tomatoes are iffy.
buy you some new ones if you think they wont make it. lowes i was at today still had some on the shelves and walmart
went and bought hot peppers and a tomatoe. Im going to plant them tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Lilly
