Which side of Cobra Lily bulb goes up?

This Cobra Lily bulb is smooth on one side and what you see in the picture on the other. I planted the smooth side down, but then given what this thing cost, I began to worry if I chose correctly.

I am pretty sure it is up side down, the smooth side should be up. the side in the picture is where the roots form.
