Coming from here:

This is the place to talk, whine or do primal screaming. ^_^

Another cool iPhone app allows me to point the phone anywhere in the sky and see where the track of the sun is - not only on that day, but throughout the year. This is so useful for gardening/landscaping/photography, etc.

Wow, you're talented, Bill! You can look up and see the TRACK of the sun, for that day and EVERY day of the year at a glance. Man you're good. That app, which also does many other things, cost all of $2.99.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That was a joke, Bill. I forgot the smiley! ^_^

Setback for the oil plug attempt. Ugh. They now admit it's already much bigger than the Exxon event.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - the cops were speeding to try to save a swimmer at Long Beach, on LI, and accidentally ran over a sunbather with their SUV. Broke his spine and ribs. There have been rough waters and a few people have drowned the past few days.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Why my tax dollars are being spent saving people from their own stupidity I'll never know.

Didn't know about the plug failure, seems we don't have the tech to deal with the pressure that deep, what a mess...

The annual damage by the "Winter Moth" caterpillar was not so bad this year, at least in my area.

Last year was terrible!

(Winter moth caterpillar is also called "Bruce Spanworm.")

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

cool!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Look forward to seeing it trickle, then stop.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Have to say that shooting golf balls, pieces of rubber, and other junk into the well does not leave one with the impression that this was in any way planned for!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

They're desperate, News Radio 1010 says the oil is just beneath the surface and goes down to 3000', they say the underwater 'oil river' is 8 miles wide, over 20 miles long and heading to Florida's west coast. & the keys. We're not going to get the truth on this anytime soon, - we haven't so far, at a minimum it's been letting out a quarter of a million gallons of oil / day into the Gulf, (a conservative estimate that BP has recently admitted as being lower than than the actual amount). That stuff attacks the nervous system, lungs, skin...

very quiet this morning... guess a bunch of you are either partied out... or away

Getting chores done before the hot weather sets in permanently.

I just can't think about that oil leak...just disasterous!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ugh - they now say the latest attempt ('top kill') has failed.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Just heard about the Cubits/DG debacle. Infuriating.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

'top kill' failed?!! Ohh man, that's bad news. May take them another 5 weeks to figure something else out!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

They better learn to think quicker!

Thomaston, CT

Hi Harper...how's it going? Still drawing?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Stung by a stinging nettle, MAN does that HURT.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ouch! Never did that.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Throbbing pain. Feels like a bee sting. On the tips of my middle and ring fingers.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

when i did the doc wall there were stinging nettles and i got into them a few times - not that bad if your focused on something else:)

Thomaston, CT

Oh, yes...they are BAD!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - stab yourself, Jen, and then focus on it.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I don't know what I got ahold of a couple years ago, but my whole hand went numb and tingling - not really pain though. It didn't last very long and hasn't happened again.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

The pain actually lasted a few hours. They feel fine now.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

glad it's gone Jen... you just reminded me to put my gloves on... sometimes I do.. I know it's bad not to

I think I saw a coyote while I was walking this morning, it was around 5:30 am, and it ran across the road maybe 50 feet in front of us. Strange to see this in the neighborhood, but DH saw one last year in a more wooded area not far from here.

Thomaston, CT

They're everywhere, Deb.....hunter shot 4 across the road from us, & there are many more.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good for the deer!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Hubby is at the movies with my son...went to go see Prince of Persia

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I thought the same thing about the deer, DH saw 3 in the front yard 3 houses away, they're getting closer.

New definition of chutzpah - The BP CEO was lamenting to a reporter about getting HIS life back!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

our 4-h club rode and drove horses and minis in the parade at the veterans home. They loved seeing the horses.

Thomaston, CT

That was nice Jumper! Victor, what a jerk that guy is! Here are some photos from the farm today....HayHay driving Grant, with a cousin behind...there were 8 little ones today, & Hay is the oldest at 5.
