Garden Photos: Partie Quatorze (Part 14)

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Great shots everyone. Glad to hear the t-storms didn't wreck any lupins. Lovely foxgloves already. They are just starting to open here as are the penstemon. Victor I like your smoke bush and that's a lotta pots Patti. Lots of things starting to open early now. Hope there will be something still blooming by July.
A few shots from yesterday morning. Baptisia and baby 'Grace'.

Love that powder blue. Is that an accurate color rendering?

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

If you mean the clem Victor it is a tad more lavender in person to my eye. The bright sun was giving me fits getting a decent pic. First bloom is predominately double then single blooms later in the season and fewer blooms also.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks. Yes, the clem.

Thomaston, CT

So many great shots! The Coral Reef poppy was so soft a color. Bill, that garden is so serene...take some time to just sit & enjoy it. Rama, I liked the colors in the cala lilies. Allison, I'm a big fan of penstemons.....have some just budded now. Pixie, quite a blooming show you have right now....the white lilac is a fav. Victor, how tall & wide does Prairie Princess get?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

About 5 feet tall. Not as wide.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

wow, lotsa nice shots. Victor, beautiful shot of the allium. Love the waterlilies, are they in your pond?
Bill, Your lupines are so pretty. Thanks, I cannot take credit for the peony, we bought the house from the British owners who moved back to UK. Totally bought the house for the gardens.

Well, Prairie Princess would be too large for the space I had in mind. I guess I'll go back to Agway & see if they still have that Hasslefree rose I liked, but didn't want to pay $30 for. Here is an annual poppy opened today that looks like Victor's begonia....

Thanks to all who commented on my photos! I had a lot to catch up on here from the last couple of days I missed.

Miles, thanks on your comment on my trellis. I made that one myself a few years ago. I don't think it's going to last too much longer, though. That white columbine of mine is in full sun and does great.

Rama, since the Betty Boop rose is very susceptible to black spot, that one will not go on my list, even though it's so pretty. The puppy is very cute.

Bill, I hope you didn't take my comment on your gardens personally. I like them very much for what they are, and you do a great job keeping them looking perfect. Wish I could say the same for myself! Mine look very chaotic and countrified in comparison. My taste is my own, and we all have different ideas of how we like our gardens. That's a good thing, as we wouldn't want to be all the same. I just have a compulsion to fill up all the empty spaces with stuff, that's all. I often have a tendency to plant things too close to each other, and then I end up having to redo my beds.

WC, your columbine you got from WFF is really neat! I like stuff that's different.

JoAnn, nice poppies!

Marilyn, I love the Silver Moon clem. I had to add that to my wish list. That Honorable TBI is very lovely, too.

Victor, I saw a gorgeous kalmia in full bloom today, just loaded! Very nice! I have none.

Allison, your mystery plant is a weed. Some kind of aster, I think. Tiny, white flowers. Actually kinda pretty. I let some grow in my gardens here and there.

Nothing to post tonight. Will have some tomorrow night.
