Can anyone help me to identify whats eating my cauliflowers please? I have uploaded a pic of one of the leaves worst affected. I have put organic pet freindly snail bate down so i dont think its that as they are still being eaten.. I have seen one, just one, small bug type insect on the underside of one leaf this morning, i thiiiiink it was kind of redish gold with black bits on it... It seems to be moving onto my white broccoli so i need to do something fast...
What's eating my cauliflowers???
Could be flea beetles--they can be a problem on this type of plant and the damage you're seeing looks in line with what they'd do http://www.extension.umn.edu/distribution/horticulture/M1210.html Cabbage loopers are another common pest, but I'd expect larger holes, plus they're caterpillars so you would have been more likely to see them.
Ok thanks :) I took that leaf down to my local garden centre and she said it may also be thrips. She advised on an organic multiple bug killing spray I could use on edible plants, so iv sprayed them with that .... And it immediatley rained lol.. So I shall be spraying them again tomorrow :)
