I've just completed (haha)the landscaping of my front yard after recently moving here to west central FL. We put in some large landscaping rocks (boulders) as accents. They each have depressions in them where wild flowers were growing. I'd like to put something in each of them that can add some color but don't have deep root systems. one of these rocks is in the cactus bed and would like something to trail off of it....burros tail? any suggestions?
Thanks ahead of time
natural rock planters..what will survive?
Sicula, here are a few ideas for you. Sedum, burros tail, or ice plants would look great spilling over the boulders.

Phlox is a nice draping plant once established and will come back every year. http://www.google.com/products?rlz=1T4ADSA_enUS361US363&q=creeping+phlox&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=on8BTM-FF8OB8gad4fTkDQ&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=image&resnum=3&ved=0CD4QzAMwAg
