Carrie, I just stole...um, borrowed this text from patientslikeme. its a reply to a woman newly diagnosed.
"...Even if it is PPMS, I know people with RRMS and PRMS who have faired much worse than many with PPMS. PPMS means you wouldn't have "relapse" (peaks and valley's), but you can progress very, very slowly too.
Welcome to the forum.
Cherie"
Very, very slowly, Carrie... :-)
Accessible Gardening thread # 11(?)
Sorry, windows did a major update today and caused us all kinds of gremlins in both computers LOL.
This message was edited Jul 14, 2010 8:25 PM
LOL, my comp will NOT be computing anymore it had an encounter with a SUV Tire and Lost !crashed Again after the mass Up date Thanks to Windows . SOOO I have to waite for my NEW one To get Built from Tashaba .... NO More Gateways for me . they would not help me at all with the one that crashed and died. unless I paid them $398.00 for a year contract.
Sarge
Gateway service has gone downhill in the last few years. They used to be the best. Sorry for the irritation, Sarge.
Sure hope Vickie is doing okay.
Debra
Hay Debra Both me & my wife have hade the Big G for years Now It is A Bad Word / 4 Letter word in our house. LOL
for over 20 years it was the only type of comp that ever graced our doors . after the smug thrashing I got for the last 5 days from the tecks and corpret it went out the door and wont be back. all i wanted to do was wipe the hard drive clean and start over new . but no need for that now . ..... ; > 0
Sarge
Sarge, you ever run into a wipe-the-drive problem again, I'll sic on of MY computer techs on it. They take fiendish delight in wiping as many as possible, as fast as possible. LOL
Debra
Debra,
my Bro-in law says he might want to do his, it is a G-Way laptop . I told him I would stick a BIG Magnet to it for him LOL.
My new one is to be here in a few days , and he is to bring his to me next week. so what ever information you need to know to do a hard drive wipe out . just let me know . I'll even call you or them on a hard line.
the disk( He Has the original Disk) and the reboot did not work for him it still has back ups in it and would not wipe the hard drive out to start over from new he wants to put Windows 7 on the Computer
Just D-mail me the # if you will or what I need to do / or who I need to speak with
Sarge
Will do, Sarge.
Carrie, how are you? Haven't heard much in the last few days. Want to make sure you are okay.
Debra
I am OK, it is really hot I am feeling kind of dopey! Very busy; we have an empty dumpster for 24 more hours!!! Thanks for asking, Debra. I have something on my leg - I don't know what it is, could be a burn but I wasnt' near anything hot but then again I might not have been able to feel it ... the kind of thing the old me would have said "pish posh; it's nothing ...." but the me with MS has to freak out about, y'know? I think it's probably nothing.
Mebbe, but a wise physician told me to not ignore new stuff and blow it off as "just" the MS. If it doesn't clear, or gets worse, call your doctor, please?
Yes'm. It is not "just the MS," it is a result of sensory loss from the MS. :( It's looking better today but still not gone.
Carrie, is this a bad time to send the lantana? (Jim)
Carrie, I am sending a little present. (Not the Echinacea, jury is still out on that one). Hope you like it and it makes you feel a little better. :-)
Debra
No, although I think I left cuttings from my therapist's plant in "my daughter's car" (it will be "her" car when she pays the insurance and the surcharge for her "it-wasn't-really-an-accident" and oh, yeah, the gas)! Yes, please send lantana and anything else.
The thing is I "feel" fine; I won't know if it's infected I have a fever. Sensory Deprivation Stinks!"
Where are Eva Mae and Sheri and so forth? I feel like we're missing people ... Ted? Katie, even.
Katie's here, recovering from a flu bug brought on, I suspect, by last week's major rises in heat and humidity.
Tony had a gll bladder attack.
We are both low-energy due to all of the above.
katie
Hope you BOTH feel better soon.
Sheri"s here attached to a Holter heart monitor for 48hrs. Heck, I wore the darned thing for 3 days last weekend but there must have been a good reading. The contacts came off due to intense perspiration while working i the garden on a 97*day. Also had a cardiac stress (IV drug induced) test and echocardiogram last week. I stay in Sinus Tachycardia most of the time and so will most likely be put on Beta Blockers. Just what I want---another pill!
Last Thursday I received Synvisc One injections in both knee joints. My left one is the worse one and didn't bother me much afterward. However could barely walk for about 5 days due to the pain and swelling in my right knee.
I just hate to dwell on or even qualify by confessing any of my numerous maladies. However I am still praising God for total and complete deliverance from Fibromyalgia and miraculous delivery from the need for both Fentanyl and Morphine. these days I just take lots of Ibuprofen & sometimes grumbling under my breath seems to help a bit! ^_^
heri
I'm with you, Sheri. Once had a boyfriend with whom I exchanged "whinergrams." A nonverbal whine was the warning signal - then watch out!!
I've been sleeping too much to be able to complain. I felt better this morning but never got going on work, went back to bed after Tony left and slept for four hours - soundly. I'm grateful I'm not in any pain from whatever this is, just no energy.
Lasty year we fixed up a shady spot where Tony can do concrete work which he enjoys. Got him a little fan and he's been pouring planters. He also does other work, mostly clean-up and maintenance and we're both happy.
I think it's the sudden onset of the hot, humid weather that has me knocked out. Back to bed for now.
hugs all around, katie
Hot, humid weather will make anyone groggy - an afternoon siesta is normal in many hot, humid parts of the world.
Sheri, sounds serious. Heart meds are important. DH has been on Atenolol for all of our marriage - he turns beet red and gets a severe headache if he doesn't take it. Sinus tachycardia is NOT good. On the other hand I take 12 pills each and every night, only 10 or 11 in the morning and 6 with supper. 1 more pill won't kill you and not taking it might ....
Maybe I'll just rattle when I walk (because of so many pills) ^_^
Do you have boxes divided up by day of the week and time of day, etc.? You just reminded me to rake my pills!
hmm...rake..I havn't reached the amount that require raking, yet. Carrie, Do you do that outside? Oh and with the leaf rake or the heavy garden rake?
ROFL...sorry, I'm sure that was just a typo, but I could not resist the urge to be silly. ^_^
Sheri
Carrie, sensory deprivation does stink.
I temporarily have to expand my working hours, so the boss is going to let me take 'siestas' until we're done. I even have a blanket in the credenza... :-)
debra
Debra! You sent me a BEAUTIFUL little blue bottle! THANK YOU I love it! It's my favorite color of blue and will have a place of honor somewhere soon. As soon as I decide a place sufficiently honorable I will take a picture.
Sheri, of course I meant TAKE not RAKE. The heat and the effect on my AMIGDYLA (according to my MD) are making my MS foggy brain so foggy I can barely think and my WORD-RECALL is plummeting. Sorry for all the caps - ordinarily I would use better words to express more precisely stronger emotions but I just can't manage. I have to finish an article by last night, heavens me!
Carrie, I hope you know I was just being silly at the opportunity. Not correcting or meaning to embarrass you. I ask your forgiveness if you took any offense. ^_^
Sheri
Carrie, you said you love blue bottles and I was hoping it might make you feel even a little better.
Debra
No, I just feel silly, Sheri, and Debra, you know I wrote an ENTIRE ARTICLE about blue pots! No substance, just waxing rapturously about them.

It is still hot and humid here. Probably will be until mid-October, though we are hoping for a slight decrease in temps as everyone is dragging, even the Mexicans who have lived here all their lives. There are some things you just never get used to. Like pain.
The ants seem to love this weather and I can understand why staking someone over an ant hill was used for torture. They are all over - the kitchen, my bed, chairs, floors and all over outside. I spray inside but not outdoors.
had a mummingbird in the kitchen yesterday. I managed to resue it without losing an eye and told the dogs no, they could not play with it. It flew away so Im hoping it's OK.
Tony is off today taking his father to Santa Rosalia again. He may need to go to La paz. Very difficuolt and expensive.
I had Tony double up the shade cloth over part of the patio and promised that as long as the weather is so hot we will do the necessary watering and send the rest of our time doing mosaics or sorting boxes of miscl. stuff until the weather mellows. Got a huge look of relief from him. He will push himself to work if I don't put the brakes on. I tell him I do it as much for myself as for him - I seem to be better at taking care of him than yself sometimes so I take care of myself indirectly by watching out for him.
Do other people have the issue of "You got that done, but there's stil......."/ I can drive myself up a wall with this. I practice stopping that voice in my head and giving myself credit for what I have done rather than criticism for what's left to do. It's kind of funny because I know the work never gets done - there are always seeds to plant, plants to pot up, etc. etc. I grew up with a lot of critical people and I thank God every day (sometimes more) that I no longer have to deal with them - except in my head, of course.
I have been making the labels for my adenium seeds while sitting by the puter with a fan on. When I have a bunch done I go out to my plant room and fix the starter boxes. The ones I have started are popping up. This is great weather for them.
Does anyone know anyone in Las Cruces, New Mexico? I'm looking for some help there.
hugxs all around, katie
Jim and Kay, thank you for the lantana and the fescue and the other thing whose label is deep inside! What a clever way of sending! Folks, they took two soda bottles, cut off the pointed tops and nested the bottoms inside each other ..... I wish I knew where my camera was - I'd take a picture. It's a waterproof little greenhouse for traveling plants. I haven't opened them yet - I can't guarantee results, but I'm definitely going to try it next time.
Katie, I had the same upbringing and had the same thoughts. After years of counciling. It finally sunk in that you are the only source of knowing how well you do. people who criticise are ignorant little people who are NOT your friend(and usually have more problems than you do.) But i still slip up some and go back to old ways of thinking. After all your posts You come across as someone with alot of common sense and ingenuity. I'm totally amazed at all you do and "make do with."
How difficult (mental wise) do you need doing in Las Cruces. I was thinking about camping around there sometime.I could in Late Sept. I've got a map and travel info for New Mexico. Yep I know to carry extra water in New mexico and fill up everytime i see a gas station. I have one extra gas can and thats all i want.

Somebody whose brain is not in the "off" position should probably start a new thread. I find the heat is affecting the MS more than usual or maybe I just don't remember.
I just can't remember what I forgot??
Carrie, I'll give it a try. Accessible Gardening Thread #12, right?
Okay, if I did this right, the new thread is here:
