FT. Lindenwood Missouri Spelled It wrong Sorry

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

oh ((((Vickie))))! That STINKS! I pray you get through this feeling ok. I don't believe he hates you; think how he must feel about himself! That's the person he has no respect for. BTW that's also elder abuse and disabled person abuse. IDK what your laws are like but here we have specific statutes against those things. Oh, honey, I can't tell you how often I've been ripped off by PCAs we trusted. I know that feels just AWFUL! But by a member of your family must feel even worse.

Lena, MS(Zone 7b)

Oh Vickie, I am so sorry darling. It looks like the granny goons are going to have to come to AR now. It just breaks my heart that you are having such a tough time with your family but they are the fools not you. I need to send my bro up there and give you his room. That would solve both our problems. I am sorry I missed your Birthday. I just read where you had mentioned it. I just go to the forums that have a new message when in a hurry. I will just have to try to make it up to you. I hate when the old devil gets in the middle of family like this. I wish I could come now. But I might make some folks a little mad. I agree with Carrie that it is elder abuse. There should be something that could be done. You should not have to be dealing with all this with your health issues. I know your blood pressure is probably through the roof or mine would be. That GS would just have to go to jail. And you are no monster you are a great friend of mine lady and I take offense at that.LOL. I am so sorry and I hope you get to come see me this fall because I am going to keep you if I can ever get you here or get the money to come get you. We will just tour the country beating up bad punks for all mankind as the granny goons. What kind of tattoos will we have to get. The hubs was watching something on tv about gangs the other night and they all had tattoos. I am just trying to lighten your burdens with a little fun and do not mean to make light of a heartbreaking situation. Love and hugs from mississippi,
It is too blooming hot here for real hugs so be glad it is a virtual one because a real MS hug would be sticky even at this time of night .scraps

Sparta , TN(Zone 7a)

scraps,

Sarge

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Scraps, do you want to be on the real names/screen names thread?

SE/Gulf Coast Plains, AL(Zone 8b)

Hi, Sarge. I’m Kay. My DH, Jim (Seacanepain), is retired AF and in much the same situation you are. Pain and other stuff, maybe not quite as serious as yours. The VA is still trying to decide whether or not surgery would help his back. I’m sure you know how that goes. Gr-r-r-.
Vickie, sorry to hear about the newest family troubles. My eldest DD is a mess, too. She just ran off to CA on an impulse to stay with a guy she just met on Facebook. I’ve thrown up my hands and locked the gate. She has virtually abandoned her two young children. And, I’m not at all sure they aren’t better off for that. As much as I enjoy a glass of wine every now and then, I’ve come to LOATHE the power drugs and alcohol has over some people!!!
You not only have the right, but a social obligation, to protect yourself. There need to be consequences to socially unacceptable behavior. If a person would steal from you, they will steal from someone else so you have a social obligation to that other potential victim. It helps me do whatever needs doing if I remember that. Toxic family situations are the worst! You have to spit out the poison they try to choke down your throat, even if you have to spit it in their faces. Don’t swallow the poison!
Thanks for the information on AR. Jim is looking over it now. The heat has hit with a vengeance so Jim is dreaming of cooler high lands. Does it start cooling off there by Sept.? It doesn’t begin to cool down here until mid-Oct. at the earliest.
Sorry I missed your birthday. I’ve been out of it. Wish it had been happier. You deserve that! The med I’m taking for my skin stresses the liver which means fatigue.
Things are a mess of unfinished projects around here, but you know you are welcome to the guest quarters here if it gets to be too much there. Jim and I are a non-toxic type of crazy. LOL. This place is humble, but you are welcome to it. Drugs and alcohol aren’t allowed here, except for occasional wine with dinner so you don’t have to deal with that. I don’t know about you, but I find the creepy-crawly snakes easier to deal with than the ones with two legs. At least with crawlies, you know what you are dealing with.
Scraps, the hydrangea I sent is blue, not white, as I thought. There is a picture of the Momma plant on one of the other threads on this forum. One day I’m going to have everything labeled, neat and organized. LOL. Well, I can dream, can’t I? Kay*
BTW: Any respectable gang "flies colors". The Granny Goons and the Grump-Pas need to decide on our colors. Green seems an obvious choice. But, then red wouldn't show the blood as bad. :-)

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

ROTFLMAOAPIMP!!!!! I like that last part, Kay.

Remind Jim that it hasn't started to warm up here, yet, except under my computer. I think I have figured out the cause of one of the items on my punch list of things to talk about at my bi-annual neuro visit: this weird sweating on my legs has really got my good PCA, Tania, very worried. I think it is due to my new laptop computer! Aha! Maybe?

Sparta , TN(Zone 7a)

kudzu1,

Ms Kay, i'm not to fond of the ID you havd LOL dont like the Kudzu it is one mean vine lol me and the VA are butten heads like two Billys gone Mad for a Doe and I aint given an inch done got my Congeressman involved and a few Generals and such they are not none to happy with me but they can get glad in the same pants the got mad in He he he .

Carrie, could be. If you don't already have one, there are cooling pads for use with laptop computers that might take care of that problem for you. A sample is the Belkin F5L001 Laptop Cooling Pad. It is supposed to blow the hot air up and away and provides a low platform that keeps the laptop from sitting directly on your legs.

Debra

Sparta , TN(Zone 7a)

Debra,

I have one of these mine is a Targus i cant live without it it keeps my laptop cool and saves the battery and my laptop you just need to dust ti and the bottom of the laptop with a can of air once in a while . but well worth it . to save the equipment.

Sarge.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Debra, I have such a pad and I also determined that my legs were sweaty before I got the new computer and even when i don't use it - it's something different. Like my hypothalamus got electrocuted. I always use this pad, it tilts the computer toward me and is powered off one of the USB ports. Could be Targus, I don't remember ...

I found a new site called PatientsLikeMe! You put in your meds and symptoms and dates of MD visits and track your disability scale over time - maybe really good, maybe a waste of time. Compare with other folks. No one else has had MS as long as I have.

I did a quick once over on this site. Sounds good. They have some on Depression too. I'll bookmark it for later. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I just popped in to say Hello. My DD#1 has about a half inch kidney stone that is lodged and can't move. They said 10 cm or mm I can't remember which and she has to see a specialist tomorrow to see what they can do for her. For now she is doped up so it does not hurt. Please keep her in your Prayers. She is the one that lost the baby in March. It is not her year Bless her heart. She drank cranberry juice for 2 days thinking it would help because she has had a kidney stone before. But she forgot about the sugar and so her blood glucose was 400 when she got to the dr. Of course, when I told her she needed to watch her sugar closer she snapped my head off. Moms do not know anything. I love her so much I would do anything for her but lately I want to spank her.LOL.

Carrie, I have thought long and hard about the name thing and I suppose it will be ok. scraps is a combination of my name but I suppose It will be ok to put Stephanie on there for all the world to see.LOL. I will have to be more careful about telling stuff on the hubs. I can't deny it if my name is on it.hehehe I am in a hurry or I would go do it. I just have a few minutes.

Sarge, I do not know where Ft. lindenwood is? I have been through Tenn on several occasions but I am not sure where exactly and it has been a long time. My Ex had to do some traveling with his job and I drove for him alot so he could sleep. Long story. I will google it when I have time and see how close I have been. Just for laughs.
tonight I have already taken my sleep meds and a pain pill for my back. So I am getting sleepy and I do not know how to type as it is. My hen pecking is getting better but I make mistakes when it is too late.

So goodnight all, Love and Prayers, scraps

Sparta , TN(Zone 7a)

be good Scraps ,

I'll keep you in my prayers

Much love Through Christ

Lena, MS(Zone 7b)

Hello everyone,

Thanks Sarge!

I took my DD to the specialist today and he sent her home with more pain meds to wait until monday to lazor the kidney stone. I guess he had weekend plans. I hate that she has to lay there all weekend nauseated from pain meds and hurting. It is not as bad as it would be without meds but that strong of a pain med makes one sick sometimes and it definitely has her. She can't keep anyt6hing down. Keep Praying. I will BBL if possible a neighbor just stopped by.scraps

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh, Steph, gentle hugs for your DD. I've never had a kidney stone but enough UTIs to be able to combine that pain with the pain of stones I had in my salivary duct a few years ago - thank goodness for those strong pain meds!

I had a feeling you would be bothered by the names thread, which is why I didn't add you before. But if you're just up there as Steph (or would you rather be Stephanie), only paid members can see it.

I understand how you feel about giving away your privacy; obviously I don't feel EXACTLY the same way or I would have thought of a more creative screen name. But for instance, I hate it when you're calling for information about whether a catalog company has your size in stock and they want to know your name and phone number "just in case we get disconnected". First of all, everyone has caller ID, so that part is baloney. Reverse phone directory could find out my name, everyone else who lives here's name, and so on. Medicare/Medicaid have my SS# on EVERY document, so why bother hiding it? I just look at my bank balance nearly every day and make sure it lines up with what I think I'm spending.

There's a member I dislike;she is a real snob about HER stuff is this perfect way and HER stuff is all in ideal rows. I (this was wen I was dirt totally poor) would post containers and she would poo-poo them. I would ask questions and she would make me feel dumb. She would say things like "DH and I were at a charity ball and the floral arrangements were so tacky." Tacky is really more about taste, and this woman is long on judging others and short on charity or encouragement. Anyway she and are both in the address exchange so I looked up her address and found out what part of Long Island she lives on and my DH said it's the very richest, snobbiest part. But that's as far as it goes! I'm not going to rob her or send her anthrax letters or firebombs! Too much trouble! I just don't comment on her posts nor she on mine. This forum is so much nicer anyway.

Vickie and Debra, I owe you each plants! Vickie, yours is blooming (and its mother, in the shade, is not). Debra, I watered yours today. I'll try to get them out Monday. We're going to go see our grandchildren for a week or so (so just look up my address and please steal all the stuff we were going to rent a dumpster for). The only stuff we've been spending money on is new electric fixtures or new plumbing or new paint jobs - hard to resell! We'll have the computer and camera.

Sorry to run on so long.

Ozone, AR(Zone 6a)

LOL Carrie, I'd forgot why green, brown and red for our(Granny Goons) flag and had to go back and see. I agree the flag has to have green, but with brown and red so as not to show all the blood and gore.
Sarge, There's alot of people who can't stand the heat in the kitchen.
Carrie, I can tell you about your woman acquantance. I had a few rich kin (totally disowned them about the age of ten) This woman is one of the new rich and not accepted in old wealth society. So she has to show off to us peons for good strokes.;^0 She is NOT a LADY. Kinda like that couple who crashed the presidents dinner party.Bet they got knocked off a few welcome lists.
Carrie, I got your address in address exchange. You have to have your address in there to access anyone elses. What all did you say you had in that dumpster?
You are so right about having to write your SSI number everywhere.I never give it online or by telephone unless i've called them and know who they are.

Steph, You are right about cranberry juice being good for kidney stones in that it helps keep the kidneys moving urine out to avoid getting stones. I buy cranberrys at Thanksgiving and freeze them and make juice with Splenda later. I wrote you a D-mail.Hugs for you both.
Vickie

I don't know how old Debra is, but I have a feeling I've just been replaced as the youngest constantly posting member of this forum. Yet too old for my daughters! (We were trying to think of a bachelor we could introduce DD#1 to, so she'd lose interest in her DBF. In this case the D stands for Deadbeat. )

Vickie, the Dumpster will be out probably next mon tue wed thur fri no, maybe the 23-30? something like that. Will have clothes light fixtures broken electronics frozen and rethawed paint old furniture - all stuff for a garage sale except nobody has the energy, all stuff good for trash to treasure except see previous excuse. Plenty of time for you to drive up before then. Let me know if you want to know the exact dates!

Yes the person I was describing is definitely NOT a lady. Good point! I do try to be and (I hope) often succeed.

(Debra) Garland, TX

Carrie, I'm 53.

Cliche though it may sound, people who place all of their identity into how much money they have are one-dimensional souls who are never prepared for real distress. Give them a situation that they can't pay someone else to handle and they are lost. Imagine this one suddenly developing MS or Lupus. Can't buy their way out of it; can't imperiously wave it away as insignificant and below their social status; obnoxious as they are (and they surely are obnoxious to the rest of us), it would be kind of sad.

None of us on this forum have had easy lives, so we are each well equipped to deal with pretty much anything that comes along. And WOULDN'T it be too too cool for one of US to be gifted with a large windfall, now? With all each of us has gone through, we are well seasoned in reality and WE would certainly know how to appropriately allocate all that lovely lolly, eh? LOL

Carrie, Never fear, We all know you are very much a lady.
I on the other hand have always worked hard not to be ladylike. I'd rather be a wild and free. I beleive in politness, being a welcoming person with good morals but people simply have to accept the fact i march to the beat of a different drummer. And i love that fact.
Sarge, You are a young man. I had pictured you older. We always need young points of view. Before we marry you off, Are you already married? LOL
Eva Mae, So glad you posted. I miss you when you are AWOL! Have you got those fainting spells fixed up yet? I hope you are not working outside in this heat.
Debra we could all go out and buy lottery tickets. I have'nt bought one yet. Someone in Clarksville won $20,000 and everyone has gone nuts buying more.
Vickie

Sparta , TN(Zone 7a)

Ms. Vickie,
I am 39 be 40 this Oct. and Yes Mam, I am married 2 kids one 4 and one 13 both girls . the military and elder upbringing contributes to how I carry on a conversation and carry myself also being raised in the south by a Mammy as a child.( this is not to offend No one it is the Truth and she is still alive she is 98 yrs old and only lives 5 houses from me now ) Her Given Name Is Ms.Marry ~;>)

Sarge

(Debra) Garland, TX

Sarge, you are a fortunate man. My former husband was raised in East Texas with his main upbringing from his grandmother and his "Miss Elizabeth." He respected both of them even over his parents. They surely did provide more stability in his life than his mother or father--parents were divorced, living in different areas, both working full time. Grandmother and Miss Elizabeth taught him manners, fundamental values, etc. He often FORGOT his manners around ME (LOL), but he is all in all a decent man and a lot of that is due to the influence of those two women.

Debra

Sparta , TN(Zone 7a)

i too did have my grandparents in the mix ,over my parents they were not aroune much all werevery strong willed and carried "Big Sticks" to keep me and my brother in line lol
we were quite the hill raisers he he he and deserved what we got and more for what we wern't caught at ; > 0 but we did turn out pretty good I think .

Debra, DH liked what you wrote! I don't usually read him stuff from DG but every now and then a snippet will catch my eye. We had a difficult morning - I think the hot water of the shower brings on this Godawful diarrhea - any thoughts? Anyway, our Father's Day brunch was rather late today, but enjoyed just as much.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to Sarge and to Jim, and to David if he ever comes around again, and to all the fathers hiding in the woodwork, and to all the people acting as fathers who don't get brunches and cards and calls Have a Great Day!

Sparta , TN(Zone 7a)

Thank you Carrie
