Little Bugs on my Houseplants

Sacramento, CA

Does anyone know what these are? I keep brushing them off and washing them away, but they keep coming back.

You can add as many images as you wish. Just post a reply on this message and attach another one. If you don't get an identification here, I'll be happy to move this to the Insect Identification Forum for you.

Thanks for the tip. Here's the other.

That looks alot like webbing from spidermites and the foliage from your plant appears to show the damage done as well. Do you see tiny spiders crawling on the front and back of the leaves as well? I have to use a magnifying glass to detect them due to they are so small.

I used to have a huge Spider mite problem. I overwinter all my tender plants, so the outbreak spread to almost every plant I had. I used a product called "Houseplant and Garden Insect Killer" the brand name is Garden Safe. It worked really well. Be careful about what products you use in the house, though. This product gave me no troubles (I have a cat and had dog at the time, no problems whatsoever)

Make sure not to wait to treat the plants or they will increase in number and cause lots of damage to your plants!

It may help to wash the plants, either in the sink, or the shower first. Let them dry and spray them with the insecticide. Keeping your houseplants misted helps immensly. Keep an eye on them and as soon as you see more webbing, repeat the process. The key is to stay on top of it. It doesn't take long to become an infestation on all of your plants.
