Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends!

Think I'll go outside for awhile, perhaps cut the backyard grass (or not) lol then it's in for a hot bath, p.j.'s and relaxation...

Betty-sounds like you all had fun!! Is that the dog that I chased around your yard that one night in my socks??LOL I can't remember. You enjoy your hot bath and relax-you deserve it:)

My subscription to DG is running out tomorrow, so I won't be posting. Besides other reasons (which I won't go into), I really can't afford additional costs. Gov't wants their quart of blood, and we still haven't sold our trailer.

Hey Betty - Kyle did REALLY great ! Most the businesses I talk to... it they do "as well" as last year with promotions...they consider it a Huge win...... And I know the charities are taking bigger hits than regular business....so He did good ...Congratulations !

Feeling much better, Thanks Betty! Finally no coughing for a few days, and it feels so good to not have my chest hurting!

LOL Betty I'm not counting, makes time go by too slow. I do need to start practicing packing one bag though.

So I got up and got ready this morning, and for some reason I was running about 10 mins early, not two minutes after I had my hair dried, ironed, and I was dressed with makeup on and Dave was in the shower getting ready for his day the power goes out! He's not on a time schedule so that's good, just glad I was completely ready before it went out.

Awesome there were so many people there to raise over $2000!

Got a few more $$$ in and Kyle beat last year's record, he's feeling better about that..hard on kids taking things so at heart...

I had a new printer given to me about 6 months ago (still in the box)tried to connect it to my system but no go..called Dell because I wasn't the original owner who purchased and upgraded the system they would help with downloading..

Darlene just called me this morning to say her neighbor and she came to the house, put anti-virus on my computer (thought I had it already) set up the printer, the cartridges are hard to have to go purchase a black/white and color one on my lunch, and apparently she added a program that I'll be thrilled to death with, not sure what, Darlene couldn't explain it to me...then Ann came to paint with them, everyone was thrilled with her moving up and joining them, that will be a good support system for Ann ..talk about Earthly Angels, they are all over...check today, am sure you'll see a few or even be one to someone, friend or stranger...

Paul came in for a morning meeting and just left, his wife is on new meds and not doing well..on his way out he said, 'Betty, got to talk to you about Friday- I bought a large circular type sitting bench for the dock, always bringing cushions in, how about Friday rather than coming into work you come and sew a cover for me!!!' yikes, I'm for that..lol..

LindaKay, mom said much the same, with her having pneumonia and then cracking her ribs, she just couldn't take the pain of breathing normally, hurt so badly...let's hope it's all behind you now...PLEASE do NOT over exert yourself or you'll be back in bed...rest...

Barb, Norm working today? so pleased that he's found employment, that must have taken pressure off the both of you..

Paul bought my dad's home on the lake after dad died, always hard going there..lordy my dad rarely left the place...so mixed feelings when visiting...

thing is, I'll get him to give me the dimensions and see if I can find a cover already made for it because when you start to purchase sumbrella waterproof canvas it's more than costly...wouldn't you know, Fabricland had a members 50% off last week, now that would have been the time to purchase what I need...

Norm's home today Betty. The job he was at was a temp job. Hopefully it will lead to something. Sure hope so. He was like a kid again when he was working. He's one of those men who feel it's his job to provide - no matter what!!! To me he just puts undo pressure on himself... No matter what, we will survive!!!!!!! And I'm sure a job is just around the corner....

glad to hear Ann is with the painters. It will be good for her. I mailed another card to them last Thursday. Please let me know when it comes. I can't get over how long it takes.....

Barb, that's why when I'm in a swap they give me my name ahead of the others, just so my pkg. arrives at same time as the others...I sent out t-shirt swap 10 days ago, still hasn't arrive...guess customs like to keep it for a few days...

When my dad's girlfriend sent our Christmas presents last year someone had punched the side of the box in and half of the contents were stolen. She sent a copy of my dad recording one of the songs he wrote around a month ago, I still haven't received it. The postal workers are NOT honest, by a long shot. I use UPS whenever I can, and they'll come pick up your package at your door for no extra charge.

I think they are paranoid at customs and I can't really blame them.. I'd rather something take a long time to get here and know that things are okay and they are checking...
I'm off to sew some more this afternoon. Enjoy the rest of your day everyone....

LOL it's probably all that tape I use in packaging, if they have to check it out it would take them forever and a day to put it back together...

I'm having a gloomy day at work today. My boss had a few words with me. I just don't think she likes me sometimes. Oh well - can't be 'honeymooning' at the new job forever and it's been almost a year....and perhaps I'm just being too sensitive.

I'm not a happy camper..the girls were talking about the bug that has been attacking lillies, came home went in search of all my lillies, all have been attacked ..won't have any pretties this year..am so sad!!!

Bev, hope you are not in an area that has such bugs attacking..

My wreigeilia's (?) are in bloom though, sure wish the flowers lasted longer..

I think we've had bunnies nibbling at my iris's. The leaves are nibbled near to the ground.
No flowers this year.......

I've had to spray everything with bug spray because of bugs eating my plants. EEEK Betty!!

Is there anything to do for the bugs? I planted basil near the tomatoes and it seems to be keeping bugs off. (as I had read)

I found an asparagus plant... we're going to 'try' it.... DH talked me into planting on other end of the yard....from the veggie garden.... don't know why....but then after he planted it.... I remembered that I read that tomato's keep the "asparagus beetle" off the asparagus.... Hmmmm...
