I'm first!!!! I'm first!!!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Susan I am so sorry about the fall out! Moving a trailer is expensive, they should have checked into that before they put in the offer in the fist place. Hello!!

Oh I don't remember what I read on the other thread, so I have this for ya'll!

That you are...so, have you been to Niagara Falls?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy I stopped off at the nursery this morning asking what I could plant in front..because of the soil (he assumes because of the oak and maple trees it's acidic) that I could put hydrangea..said they will be blue though because of the soil...it's a thought..ohhh yours is so pretty..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I've never been to Niagara Falls and have always wanted to go. This is so exciting!!!

Kinda cool really unless you want different colored ones. They were all wilted yesterday because of the heat, they don't like heat and direct sun at all, but always come back to life after it cools a bit. You shouldn't have any problems with them up there.

What's the temperatures like at the end of June? I'm bringing two pairs of capri's to wear at the reunion, but I might change my mind and wear shorts on Friday :) lol I'm probably going to bring one pair of jeans, and 3 pairs of shorts. I want to pack as lightly as I possibly can.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Hi Betty

I had Dr appoinment yesterday....
He said my heart was good...........................
So I will wait for it to affect my legs.....................

Tubby

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy, then a quick visit to the falls it will be..maybe a ride on the Maiden of the Mist might be in order...that's plenty of clothes, remember, I've a washer/dryer even up here in my neck of the woods..lol..you know me and organizing, trying to show you a bit of my country....have to check when the G Summit is, hoping it's over by the time we cross over to Canada as it would be wonderful to take the shoreline QEW and maybe stop at CN Tower in Toronto...of course providing weather co-operates a boat ride on Georgian Bay see some of God's country..already told Greg I'll need the Foxy Lady in the water...his question 'and why?'..it will be a packed few days...figure if we leave around noon on Sunday from Ohio we might get quite a few things done..

Tubby, glad to hear the ticker is fine, now what were you saying about your legs?

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Crissy-unless you are REALLY cold blooded, bring shorts for the reunion....end of June-mid-high 80's w/ humidity. Most will be wearing shorts, tanks or T's and flip flops...

Victoria Harbour, ON

So bored here today, everyone out there in the world must have taken today off as well for our Victoria Day...I've had 1 call all morning..gave me time to look at the map, get a plan of action for the week's holiday Crissy and I will have...G8 summit is the 26th & 27th so by the time we cross the border all the high security should be over...

Stacey, when are you leaving for the reunion? guess it's got to work into your work schedule?

Crissy my thoughts are after I pick you up at airport we'll slide back over providing there aren't any line ups at the border over to Niagara Falls...get that part over..

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Betty, that bench is gorgeous!! and I can't wait to see the out house!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

How are you today Thunder..weather good enough for you to be out in the gardens?

Thanks for your praise...makes me walk with chest out..as though I'm not out far enough as it is..lol

Concerned about the outhouse/flower shed..as I said previously, the base wood cuttings look sooo tiny when I put it together before nailing that I decided to enlarge..mistake/mistake/mistake...am sure I can rent out a room in it..got a little carried away wouldn't you say...have no idea where I can set it...

Have you set your sewing machine away for summer months?

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

What I meant was my legs won't work.....
Because of lack of blood....
So wheel chair bond.........

Tubby

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty I would LOVE to see your part of the country, I love sightseeing! My favorite thing! I'll bring my Dramamine! Once I'm in the car I'm all yours, whatever you want to do!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Tubby, am sure that things will change once they find the correct meds..do you have access to getting around in the yard? Are you a t.v. watcher and/or reader? Both make things easier to pass along the day..

Crissy, with my Recreation background and taking trips with groups you just have to watch me or you'll likely be so programmed in those few days that you'll not have time to sleep..better take along with the dramamine some 'stay awake' pills..

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Betty

TV WHERE WOULD I BE WITHOUT IT......
Shirley taks me with.......
And I watch..LOL

Tubby

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Tubby I'm glad she takes you out there with you. I hope you have good cable or satellite, daytime TV sucks. Hopefully your blood will start pumping those legs too! I'm sure your legs are weak. Lots of thoughts and prayers continue.

Betty I'm more worried about the day I get back, I have to work that Thursday and Friday. I found out finally that Roy is flying in on Tuesday the 29th, and I'm flying back on Wednesday the 30th. With what's stirring up I wish I could stay with you until July 7th lol!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Tubby - so glad to see you posting as much as you are ^_^
Lots of stretching exercises - will they help the blood flow?

Thank you everyone for your thoughts on the sale of our trailer. I just wish the City would "get off it's butt" and let us know how much they will pay towards the move of the trailers! If they gave us a figure, we could work with that.
As to the sellers not asking prior to putting an offer on the trailer - they had an idea. I think they just got "cold feet" because the realtor said they tried to cancel the appointment with the city to apply for the rental of the pad..........
I have another person interested, but they want to know how much the City will pay towards the move first, before they look at it.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Susan I hate that. Hopefully it will be at least half whenever they do give the figures. I'd be harassing them lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Change you fly home date Crissy, plenty you and I could do...I have to be back at work on the 5th..some of my friends would entertain you I'm sure..could you miss your flight..????
lol

What's with that Municipality, can't you attend a Council meeting to discuss this issue along with others in the park, it's kind of leaving you blind as to what you can and can't do..surely they must know people are trying to sell and that's a component that has to be dealt with..not really fair is it..people just won't buy not knowing the particulars...sure hope you can get some resolve...

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Tallulah

Excersize'....Excersize...
Ok Ok I will..

Tubby

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Pump those legs Tubby!! Up, down, up, down, up, down lol

LOL Betty I really wish I could but that would get me in trouble, so I best not.

Victoria Harbour, ON

nope, surprised Crissy you are able to come at all, let's just hope you'll be so calm, cool and collected after your vacation that even uncle's visit won't put you in a tizzy..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Meeting - yes, we went to a Residents/Co-op meeting, and they took it to City Council, along with a petition signed by everyone in the Park, saying we Don't Want To Move, but they went ahead anyway. There have been several meetings with the City.

Now we're trying to get it so the City won't have us out-of-pocket for the move.
Rather than an reimbursement, we want the City to pay up-front for the move.
There are a lot of seniors who have lived here 40 years, and they can't go to a bank and ask for the $$ as a loan......... Banks wouldn't lent them that amount anyway, on a retirement fixed income! The cost of $5-10k is prohibitive (15k for a double-wide) to many people.
We can't even just walk-away from the trailer, because we'd still be on-the-hook for the pad rental each month ($525)!! So, our homes are devalued, they decide whether they'll rent to a buyer, and won't give us info on the reimbursement. We're caught between a rock and a hard place.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Never heard of such a thing Susan, are they taking over the land for development is that why they are saying you must move...can you go further than council...ombidsman (?)

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

They won't say it's for sale to a developer, but we're pretty sure it is.
It's prime land for development, and over 6 hectares.

Susan

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good grief Susan, the politics of the thing.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I've already made up my mind that Roy isn't going to bother me, this whole thing with Dave's Cousin Robert is going to drive me nuts enough.

Here's the latest. Robert's having this event at a ballpark he works at, on the 4th of July. Actually there's two, one on the 14th of June I think (whatever date that weekend is, and on the 4th of July.) Dave wants to spend the day there to play bouncer, I want to spend the day at the reunion on the lake. I told Dave there's nothing that sounds more miserable than sitting in a baseball park in the beginning of July in 100* heat with no shade, listening to a bunch of free garage bands, all the while being around a bunch of people I don't know. I might go with Roy to the reunion on the lake and enjoy myself, and Dave can help his cousin.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yeah....... I know - re: the politics of the thing

Popping in....
Excited to hear of Crissy & Stacie's visit ! I wish I could come along... But I guess I "can" on this thread.....(visit Betty vicariously through the blogs!) LOL...

Susan my heart breaks for you.... It's hard to hear so much injustice in this.... but I read something similar in the paper today in USA...and I am SO disappointed in other things going on right now... as you can expect... here in Louisiana. I wish I were smarter and could understand politics ....

Tubby - SO glad to see you post again... My little hibbie plants are toughing it out... I wonder if I should be fertilizing them. Saw a HUGE beautiful RED one at the nursery and hoping the seeds you sent me are going to look similar... any growing tips? they are hanging in there....just still SO tiny... my fault because I put 6 seeds in a 6" pot rather than follow advice to put them in smaller pot... but they are growing slowly...

Love that RED Bench Betty! It "POPS"! looks great....

I booked a place on the beach for JUST DH and I. Just a weekend trip. It will be our FIRST vacation ever with just the 2 of us. (When we married we had the kids).

On the agenda: Eat at a steak place I like (Ponderosa). Walk down the Beach. Sit on balcony and watch ocean. Collect Shells for the back yard.

Hugs,
Mary

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mary, am sure we'll come across each other in our travels one day!!! Exactly where did you book the room? you are not far from the ocean I believe..am sure the few days away will be exactly what's needed..let's hope the weather co-operates..I try to eat at the Ponderosa when I travel to Buffalo..we had 2 in my neck of the woods but they closed years ago..still enjoy the steak and salad bar!

Kyle was over last night for t.v. bingo - no $$$ but some laughs..lordy he's becoming quite a man..at same time he's becoming accident prone, said while riding that monster bike Greg is making he crossed the main bar and had a cut about 4" long on his leg, still bleeding when he arrived at the house...he no sooner left at 9:30 did Greg come in..lordy thinks mom can do anything..brought a wooden seat form, asked me to get the highest density foam and some leather and make a seat..hmmm..me thinks it would be better not to keep trying, say 'no can do' and then I'd not have as many projects..lol but, there the wooden form sits in my car, a stop to Fabricland tonight to check what they have available..bike goes in today for painting ..says the Foxy Lady comes next..clean/buff and set into the water..will be glad to get that lawn ornament off my lawn..

Tubby, you lifting and lowering those legs to gain strength? meant to ask what's growing in your flower/veggie beds?

Off to check the website to see where the boating licensing is being held in my area..kept putting it off, everyone in the family has it but me and whose name is the Foxy Lady in 'me/me'me' so if I want to take her out I'd better go get it..$250.00 fine if caught without it..

Hello, Hello!

OMG, Ive been eaten by the jungles again!
If not outside I'm playing in the house. Weather was so hot and humid for a couple of days.
Got lost in a really cute story too. lol, saw Julia reading it so soon as she was done, I picked it up.
Now we both are stuck on this new series...lol but I decided she can buy the next book.

OHH Mary, How exciting for you and DH! I hope you will have wonderful time.
LOL, my trick with son was to keep him so busy, he would be too tired to get into any mischif...
and it seems that it did work...OH have i got a cool picture for you!

Ok so you know how much i love sunsets...When we were at the the house last week we literally played with the sunset.
That was pretty neat. It all started with this Picture, lol looks like Jake was holding it with his arm

Yep, can hardly wait to see the outhouse.

Waiving Hi Tubby. glad to see you posting too.

What can I tell you all, i have been so scatter brained lately...Trying to do 1000 things at one time, Don't know how you do it Betty, wanna send me some of your energy, my mind is at 2 houses and 2 gardens.

Here is the next sunset holding...

The hibiscus plants that are blooming now are annuals, the perennials bloom in the fall til the first freeze. They need water, they like the same conditions that an EE does.

I put some seeds right in the ground and I think they're coming up, they don't look like the surrounding weeds LOL

Oh yea Mary, sounds like a wonderful time!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Looks like you all had a bawl with that sunset Judy! I love the pics, very neat!

Glenview, IL

Betty, YTikes it is pretty stiff fee. Don't want to get caught without boat license! I hope you find a place close...

So Steve has been crazy busy himself...He was at the house, and Completely gutted the main bathroom.
Here is the old and very ugly BR.

And here is the New!

All i can say is WOWEE, He did a beautiful job.
And see the tile work! He got inspiration from all the beautiful tiled floors in Italy!

Ack, that was the wrong pic, lol.

Thanks Crissy, we do love to play with nature.

We had quite the crowd that weekend, so
instead of them lazing around watching us work, we put them to work!

The pier went in.
