I live in deep south Texas..usually my mums flower in November but for some unusual reason they
started flowering in April and still flowering..
Will they flower again in November?
Crysanthemum (mum)
There are 2 types of mums. The hardy garden type does flower in the fall when the days are shorter. They are usually offered for sale only late summer and fall.
The other type are not hardy, at least not north. They are offered for sale in the spring and that is when they bloom. I don't know if those are perennials or not. Certainly not hardy at least in my zone. I alway wait till fall to purchase mums.
Did you purchase mums during this spring? Or, is it hardy garden mums that are blooming? If so, that is strange.
Below is the photo of my mums blooming in September 2009.
Edited to add that they are coded as to color on a hard copy.

There are 2 types of mums
Ones who look after their children, and ones who don't? Fortunately, the latter are extremely rare!
