Gerber daisy Seeds

Hermitage, TN

I purchased some beautiful Gerber Daisys from a local florest. Is there any way to take the seeds from them, harvest them into plants. If so how?

Girl7, If they were cut flowers then you will not get any
seeds from them.

If a plant this article will be helpful to you.

thank you,
The weg site was somewhat helpful. I am a novice gardener, but trying so hard. I experenced a similar situation as someone on that forum. I have this tiny herb garden, it was overwaterd and i was trying to allow the soil to dry. One of those tins that comes with seeds, 3 different fragrent herbs. 2 of the herbs germinated one did not. So I stuck the head of 1 gerber daisy flower into the area that was void of any herb; just potting soil. Now It looks like something is growing there. A gerber I would assume. So I have an herb garden on one side and daisy seedlings on the other. Does this help?
what do i do with them leave it alone? i guess i just got lucky??

im wondering what is growing in my garden. Yes they did come from cut flowers. At the time I figured what the heck do i have to loose. Either throw the flower away or stick it in a pot and see what happens. Something happend. They are maybe an inch tall. I have tons more flowerheads litteraly millions of seeds. I have no idea what to do, maybe just the same? I have a window seal to work with as far as lighting. any ideas?

A photo might be helpful but you know.... a seedlings look
alike.
This site has a pic of a seedling - took awhile to find it. In the
meantime I'll try to get some pics of the ones I have growing
as well

You might also find this helpful but Gerbera was not one of the plants that they showed. http://theseedsite.co.uk/db.html

Hey Chis,

I've wondered/thought about starting Gerbers from seed also (I have the plant) but haven't done anything about it yet. Thanks for the article site. Haven't had time to read it yet, but will during the winter.

Hope your garden is going GREAT this year. My Sweet Peas are going like crazy esp. whatever reseeded itself from last year.
