Hack, it's good to see your posting. Here is one of my 'practice' shots of the Heron in flight.

Nice awful shots all! Here we had a Yellow Jacket chasing a R-t HB around the feeder...

round and round they went..but Burd wants a pic of the feeder...lol

Burd, looks like the bird and the bee were having a good excercise. lol. This is the 3rd time I spotted this Northern Flicker on top of the tree where the RHWP made their nest. I can't really tell whether the two woodpeckers share the tree?

I meant to say " ..whether the two woodpeckers share the tree for their nesting site?"...

I haven't had time lately to play on dave's garden, and it looks like I've missed some truly great bad shots! Love the yellow jacket and the hummer. I remember trying to get a dragonfly that was chasing a hummer -- impossible -- for me anyway.

I've been dying to get a shot of one of the two male house finches that has been hanging around. First time that house finches have ever really hung out here. I just can't get a good shot. He finally perched in a sunny spot and my camera batteries went dead. This is as close as I got. He has a safflower seed in his beak in case you can't tell!

A pair of female Belted Kingfishers doing some chasing...I couldn't keep up...lol

Great bad photos everyone! Burd, I feel bad for that last one-it sure would have been a challenge!

I was trying for a mirror image on this pair-another failure!

I was ready for the dive...I was waiting for the Kingfisher to make its move...as sweat ran down my nose...I thought this would be it.. the "grand moment".........awww cmonnnn!!! lol

Hack its like that all day long with a Kingfisher...they like to stay low...about 5 to 8ft above the water...so when they dive its over before you know it...even when you think you are ready.lol
