Awful Bird Pics Vol.15

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

#2. A little better...maybe......

Such a bad pic, I could not post it anywhere else, but this is a Crowned Hornbill, taken from the river, while the bird was on the top of the hill.

The great thing of this, is it is a first for us. So even the bad pic is a good memory.

My share ... a male hummingbird practice-shot. Hope there will be other opportunity to get a good pix of him.

Ok, here is another photo of the Brown Thrasher. Dunno if I could get it any better but best I could do.

What's great is that at least we can all still identify the birds.

I thought this was going to be my best photo ever of an Osprey on the nest. HA! No head.

Another one of the Osprey. I think the mate told this one to duck the head!

Duc, wow. Those pics. are so clear just on a different angle. I wished someday I will be able to see Ospreys on their nests-- with chicks.

I wanted to post this Eastern Kingbird on our daily thread-- but decided, it belongs here.

This one, I needed a tripod!

I tried to get a pic of a male House Finch in low light on a slightly swinging feeder. With the low light I couldn't crank up the shutter speed. But at least I had the camera on the window mount.

Still - bummer.

I must say everyone's shots have been really awful lately. Keep up the good work!

Hey, couldn't you wait just a second before moving!

Sometimes, it seems like birds have the uncanny ability to know the mulli-second before you click the shutter - then they move.

Fairy-wren, probably spooked by the sound of the shutter.

A Hairy & Downy Woodpecker...forgot I still had the ISO on 1600 for the owls thw night before...DUH!!!!

Hack, make that a nano-second...just as elusive as my pair of Goldfinches which just now arrived at the feeder, then...they're gone, AGAIN! Hi Margaret, what type of tree is that the Fairy wren is on? Orleander?
Nan, at least you recognized the setting on the camera, whereas I've had no clue ISO (in search of?).

Okay, I'm sure we've heard/read about the "Woman who lives in a shoe..." but look at these Mama and Papa Geese, will they know what to do with these many offsprings? Sorry the quality of the pix isn't the best. Thus is wound up here. Big sigh!

Another I took before I remembered about the ISO. This really hurt my eyes...I am not sure what the bird is. A phoebe maybe????

Lily , here is a quick explanation of ISO

I love this thread-lol on all your pictures!

Just like a child, I had the perfect pose and the bird got tired of waiting for me to click the camera.

This Calif. Towhee was walking along the top of the railing and showing it's mating dance, but when I went to click the camera I got the rear end!

Someone should tell him to pull his shorts up a little. :(

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

My birds must be getting together to plan how they can mess up my pictures and laughing when they move just at the right time.

Here's one Scrub Jay.
