Hi! I am a relatively new gardener who lives in north central Kansas. Since I live in a very rural tiny community, I enjoy growing rare gourmet vegetables. I am looking for a source for seeds for the following vegetables:
garbanzo beans (also known as chickpeas) - black ones or regular
black Beluga or French blue lentils
Jerusalem artichokes
cardoons
gooseberries
Please, I am ONLY interested in heirloom or open-pollinated varietes - NO HYBRIDS, please!
Thank you! :-)
Where Can I Find...?
Michelle, I have some cardoon seeds I'd be glad to share, but I'll have to check the variety. I get most of my seeds from Baker Creek, but there are several companies that specialize in heirlooms. Google "heirloom vegetable seeds" and you shoud be able to find one you like:)
Baker Creek seed is a great source of heirloom seeds http://www.rareseeds.com. You can also try Botanical Interests Seeds http://www.botanicalinterests.com/store/index_index.php
Theseeds are for Gobbo di Nizzia. They are from Baker creek, so are OP, if not actually heirloom. They are from 2008.
