FYI
Members 'busterb123' & 'jlzivney' are also names used by lljjz or someone at her address.

I suggest anyone with a United States Postal issue = a problem with trades, what is said to be shipped in trade but wasn't - or any form of fraud - they should fill out the form at the link above.

IF Terry or others here have a problem with this information, which is public knowledge, they should direct it on the thread - verses deleting the thread. I have printed this information thread and will use it to make things better at Daves. To many people have taken advantage of members with Admin approval over the years and this must stop. Newbies - the purpose of the sites mission, is not being honored.

Please copy and paste, print or do whatever you need to do to keep this information. If you have lost in a trade with this person you should speak up ! Don't let other good hearted members be screwed! (that isn't a dirty word)

springfield area, MO(Zone 5b)

Where I grew up, 'screwed' is a dirty word, I guess it depends how you look at it. But it's unacceptable in my house.

Next, in some states it is illegal to mail plant material of any kind or plant products, unless you have a license and those items have been inspected. Especially so if the items are going across state lines. So if you are trading and are not sure about the specifics of the laws in your state, it probably would not be a good idea to tattle on yourself over a few dollars of trade gone bad.
Kinda like reporting to the cops that your pot got stolen....

FrillyLily,
Do you know where you can get a list of those states?

As a reminder of the reason this thread was left open:

Quote from Terry :
I'm going to intervene here, and remind everyone of some general ground rules of trading (and why we strongly discourage threads like this.)

If you have not received your trade, this thread is for you, and only for you. Your situation is the only one that is allowing this thread to remain up. We have advised this member to not enter any additional trades until all current trades have been received, so if you have not received yours, now would be a good time to speak up and let her know what is owed to you.

If you are unhappy with the trade you received from this trader, you should attempt to work it out via dmail or email. If that has not resulted in a mutually satisfactory outcome, you can choose to leave feedback for one another, and/or rebuttals, if needed. That's why we offer the feedback tools. But no more posting in this thread or any others; any other posts of that nature will be removed.

If you are happy with the trade you received from this trader, you also can choose to leave her some feedback on her feedback page - or not. It's entirely up to you. Again, this thread is not the place to go back and forth with those who are unhappy with their trade, or who have not received their trade.

If you did not have a trade with this person, you don't have a proverbial dog in the hunt, and it would be best to ignore the thread.

springfield area, MO(Zone 5b)

You can probably call your state's USDA office and request a copy of rules for trading/selling plants w in the state and for sending plants across state lines.
Basically my point is this, do it or not, whatever, but certainly do not start involving the post office/state/fed in matters you probably don't want to have your name on. In other words, the more complaints about this type of stuff the more rules they enforce and it just makes it more difficult for legitimate folks. I would venture to say, plenty of folks trade/buy/sell on DG that are 'supposed' to have a license, or inspection of some sort. I think most people are careful to clean plants and pack properly ect, but there are always those few that are careless. Some states have specific rules for shipping w/out soil, spraying first or packaging plants a certain way.

Brandon, FL(Zone 9b)

All the folks at two of my local post offices call me "the plant lady"! They know what's in the packages, shoot, I've even shared plants with the postal folks...so if it's illegal...they're part of the problem..since they know! Share and Share Alike!!! **S**

I'm a newbie and i hve made good on all my trades! my trades ere not for plants bt im sure everyone was happy!

Gardiner, ME(Zone 5a)

I'm happy that I received 2 peonies from Marie - lljjz
Here is the dark red double historic peonie, coming along good. The 2nd one she sent has 2 shoots coming so it is also going to be ok.

Here is a picture of the bigger one.Gosh I hope ALL of you will still have your trades coming.

Gardiner, ME(Zone 5a)

This is the smaller one, picture was taken a couple of weeks ago or so.

Hang in there ,maybe something is wrong with her family again ?
hard telling ,maybe she just simply gave up and said the heck with it ?

I don't know her, only from this one/only trade which she immediately sent overnight and 2nd day air.
Wish you all the best.I keep lurking and hoping to see that some trades are full filled by now but it doesn't look like anything is happening.

This is a fernleaf Peony!!! http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/75964/

Maybe you are happy with the fact that you just received something in return. But this is not the Peony she promised everyone that it was.

Your "dark red double historic peonie" probably will bloom Pink :-)

New Milford, CT

Still waiting ....

Gardiner, ME(Zone 5a)

Kim,
I know it isn't a Fernleaf peony by just looking at it :-) ...I didn't trade for a Fernleaf.Mine is suppose to be a double darkred, very old historic.

In the second box she sent a bloom with it and I don't know if the blossom came from that root or not but I trust her that it will be the same.

Portland, OR

I am still waiting too. I sent her a dmail and said that if I didn't hear from her by the 15th, I'd leave feedback. Not a word has been sent, and no plant material either.

(Zone 7a)

Ahhhh I see. But I thought the Old historic Peony from her 90 year old neighbor was told to be fernleaf. That was my understanding when the thread was Posted. Was there another Peony Post?

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Just stumbled across this thread and.... well... I guess I didn't send anything I couldn't spare.

In the beginning of June, I was solicited by dmail for a trade. Things were crazy here and I said I would appreciate her delaying her end of the trade till the end of the month. I guess I really didn't need any more green stuff but would really have appreciated a dmail to let me know my items arrived there safely and she was delighted. Even a simple thank you would have been sufficient but over a month later and a dmail inquiry, still no response.

Lessons learned? Yep. I will look closely at the threads someone has started ( not just threads soliciting more plants but for "do I still owe anyone?" threads, I promise to look at feedback, look at posts, look at...

Yes, it will make me far more hesitant to share unless it is a Daver that I feel I know and not from one "flying under the wire"!

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

Kim_M

There were 2 posts....1 on the trading forum for double red heirloom and another on the peony forum for the red fern-leaf. Mine is from the the same as Eglantyne
and looks about the same as hers at this time. I understood it to be a double red from a neighbor (old and mature is how I interpreted heirloom). Before I traded I looked Marie up by Googling and determined that the roots were traded to her and that they were passed along through Marie. Anyway, although many have clearly not been pleased with most of the aspects of trading with Marie I am happy to have my first peony whatever it may be.

Just sharing my 2 cents....

I'd like to add that I won't knowingly trade again with her.

I received a 'root' that could be from a tree. It had a terrible odor, black. No eyes and probably was not a peony at all. I was trading for a Fern Leaf Peony and did finally get the 'root of something' but no green, nothing even after careful planing just to see if a leaf popped up - after all this time not one leaf or sign of life.

Very sad that people take such advantage. What I don't understand is why anyone would ship 2nd day air. There is something even stranger about that part.

Lucky for me - I did not send my end of the trade because I didn't get what I was trading for.................Kathy

OH, ok...

Ashdown, AR(Zone 8a)

There's a Rate and Reveiw forum on GW too...there's only a few post about her but it's mostly same as here....not good. I posted my reveiw even though I didn't trade w/ her on GW...not because she didn't try but apparently she didn't realize bigred from Ark.is one and same as bigred from Ark. here. I don't cheat people so I don't see the need to change my screen name from website to website.

Definately not good news !!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

As of today, we have terminated lljjz's account for violating the rules we set out for her in order to clear up her outstanding trades before engaging in any others. I'm leaving this thread read-only so that those of you who are wondering about the status of your trade may know what happened.
