I have a 2 yr old king's spear in a pot. The blooms are starting to fade and I was just wondering how I should go about pruning it. I mean, should I prune it? Will it re-flower if i did? It will be transplanted soon in our front yard... Also, the info on the plant says that the blooms are fragrant although I haven't notice any smell coming from the flowers... Here's a pic of my buddy ^_^:
thanks!
King's Spear
Chezca, I searched around a bit and found this info....it says the plant that blooms will dieback and leave offsets. (Asphodeline lutea)

Oh no! I guess I should hurry up and transplant it since it will die and needs space for the offshoots/sets?!? See I knew you guys would come through for me :) I tried googling and binging it last night to no avail before posting... moon, you rock, ma friend ^_^!
Too welcome honey. Hope it grows well for ya. Cool perennial with neat flowers....grin
melikey ^_^. It is quite anusual in my frankengarden ^_^. I have a prince's plume too but that one's in the "ICU" since it's lookin wimpy for a two yr old... DH keeps tellin me it's a weed cos it looks like a weed :) hah! well, he usually thinks all my baby plants are weeds cos they look like 'em to him ^_^.
My DH will settle on a name and call everything that size or color by that name. He liked the sound of Grevellia so now any bush or shrub is one....sigh.
lol. ^_^
