Hi,
I am planning to plant camellias. But my yard gets afternoon sun that is after noon. Would they do okay in my yard. I am a new garderner, just getting into gardening. Just did the mulch, topsoil, pruning. I have a place where I want an evergreen flowering plant so thought of camellias. Any suggestions.
Thanks,
S
planting camellias
If you're set on camellias, C. sasanqua will tolerate more sun than C. japonica. How much sun will it get? I've seen sasanquas in practically all day sun and doing well and also not so well. How much space do you have? Camellias are fairly large plants and will make a nice background for other things when they are not in bloom like Abelia or Azalea. Then you can use annuals and perennials to border the bed to you color for the rest of the year. If you have 6 hrs of sun in that area, you have a wide range of plant material to choose from.
Hi,
Thank you mnementh61.
I want to plant it like a specimen plant and plant something below it. ALso it is an evergreen tree .The part of the yard where I am planning to put it gets around 6 hrs. of sun.
Thanks,
Shailak
