On a bathroom break.. ONE JUST FLEDGED AT 11am !!!!!

The other chicks are not coming to the entrance hole at all so it might be a while but I have lots of pics of the first one so I'll be back later to show them.

Here are a few before I go out again. Here he is just peeking out at me.

In this one it looks like he is saying "Gosh it's a long drop to the ground".

Dark clouds are rolling in,I may have to stop being outside. I'll try to get more photos of the first chick uploaded soon. Hee.. I took over 330 images of him.

He's so adorable! Hope the weather be gentle on those fledglings.

Thanks guys they are precious and sweeter than anything!! Well the other ones are just not ready yet to fledge so I'll keep looking and show you more photos later.

At this point Mom came into the box and both of them had their heads out (Mom on right).

I'm getting squished!

This is the last shot right before he took off. I got so excited I pulled away from the camera and forgot to keep pushing the shutter button. He had a really nice flight into the half broken tree. I could here him but could never see him to get a pic. He did such a great job!

Oh Pelle, what wonderful event unfolds right in front of you!!! I believe my heart skipped a few beats. (any more than that I would simply pass out). How fantastic a series that you've just narrated! I just love, love every moment of it. Thank you.

Your welcome Lily! I was so excited I forgot to eat till now,lol.

The others wouldn't come out of the box while I was there and it almost seemed like the parents gave up trying to coax them for a while. Here is a shot of the next one that would not come out.
It looks like a little girl to me; what do you think? ^_^

Usually it's the female child (in the human species) that fledges sooner than the young men. Someone wiser in the birding world is going share their expertise with us here. lol. But, by the look of that eye-make up. It's suspectious of a 'girl' after all. (just kidding). Pelle, the picture is so crisp and clear. Beautiful job!

I just read that fledging could take place over 4 days so this might be a while for the rest of them. :-)

That 2nd to the last pic brought a tear to my eye...Awwwwwwww...bless it's heart!

Pelle, this is really wonderful to see. They are so gorgeous and thank you for sharing their lives with us. I am really looking forward to seeing and reading more.

Gosh darn, those are the cutest little things! Congrats. Can't wait to see them at the suet long.

So glad you were able to watch this. I think 1 a day is plenty to keep the parents occupied.

Thanks everyone it was really exciting! He was just a darling and not at all bothered by the camera. Yes GP, I think it's so good that it's spread out over 4 days because they apparently only lay 1 egg a day although they should all hatch over 3 days at most. It sounds like there might be 4 or 5 more chicks in the box. We'll see. :-)

Wow the fledge just flew up on the porch and perched on the lattice just 3 feet from my head. He was chattering at me in that lower tone the chicks have till their older. What a great little flyer he is, I watched him go all over the place but staying within the left side of the back yard. So cute!

OH man I wish I was there... cant wait till I see fledges around here ,wont be long now !!!

I'll have some more photos in a little bit. Another baby face at the hole. :-)
Unfortunately it has started to rain so I had to come back in plus I have to get ready for my first day back at work tomorrow.
