south back house garden and south east fence corner.. I almost have the view of the neighbors yard blocked, I'd say another month..
My Morning Glory Adventures May thru June
The rain has been heavy and hard, yet the blooms on the I. purpureas keep coming, always the first to bloom for me, in the majical world of the beautiful morning glory..
I am pretty excited that my wild morning glory hedge bindweed is happy here on the patio for now, I will transplant it this fall to the north fence corner, by the gate.
This barrell has sunflowers and morning glorys at the base, as well as a ruby glow passion vine, an oxalis, and some liatris and tall showy primrose for the vines to climb. a few long poles and some plastic heavy mesh netting completes the setting for the barrell on the north west corner of the patio..
This pot held rebecca last year on the south fence by the Brugs, and there are some volunteers now growing from that same tub..that is a broken tree limb from the neighbors horrendous much needed trimming trees, but the good way to look at all the fallen branches into my yard is 1. lunch for the compost pile out back in the alley 2. some thing natural for my vines to climb on .3. supports for the tall plants that need it, 4. excersize for me to walk around collect them break them up and place them where they need to be placed..
This is the north fence west end as of this evening, I pulled probably 35 rogue plants out of it to give breathing room for other things in there, why do I get so carried away with seeds every year? Behind everything there are vines from the mg swap and we will be seeing no fence in just a few months..now about the roots and plants, they are free for the asking, but will need shipping money. LOL..
I bet I took out 20 plants of Moon Raker beards tounge alone.. plus some monardas, cleomes, primrose and perilla.. you can tell what grew there last year. I have been pulling out little messina creepers and roman candy and scarlet o hara that has come up voluntarily as well.. have to see some new faces this year..

Debra - in here - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=7874720 - those hollyhocks make nice ghost flowers for night, don't they? Congratulations on your I. plantesis caudex plant; after wintering over a Kansas winter, its abundant growth must be especially gratifying.
Imho, your garden is very lovely and interesting.
Karen
Looks like you are off to a great start this year with a really nice assortment of blooming plants! How are your brugs doing? I just received cuttings from another person here in FL and they have all rooted. :-)
Debra, Looking forward to all the lovely bloom pics you
will be sharing with us.
Thanks everyone, the plantesis likes the basement garden in winter, as did all the other annuals that usually die out there in the cold.. I recieved a pakage of i. purps mix in the mg swap, and it produced this awsome vine, red stemmed, with very dark leaves and the darkest purle I have ever seen, it is so pretty..
this picture makes it look lighter and bluer than it really is. It is almost black.
Debra, Very pretty. Probably Kniola's Black
June 14th.. trying to get this caught up.. may have to give up that idea. It will be Christmas soon the way I am going here..
follow me while we wait for cool weather or at least some rain...http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1122031/
