Yes! Ditto! What she said!
Hanging in there. Part 3
ROTFL!!! We need a new ditto!
LadyG, we had a busy three days with the Grandkids! We got them Friday afternoon, so that day didn't really count. Sunday, we got to play outside in the morning even tho the grass was wet, then it rained all afternoon. I got enough sleep, but the brain seems tired, LOL!
It's raining again this morning. My grass needs mowed, the peas need picked and the mosquitos that were almost gone have hatched with a vengence. I see a wasted summer to go with the wasted spring.
I hope you are feeling OK! I think I'm finally over my 3 week sinus infection. I promise to go to the Doctor even if it seems like a small thing. I thought it would be gone last week!
Prayers begin again since I haven't had a thought of my own for three days, LOL!
Get well!!! We miss you, but your health comes first.
(((Big Hug)))
Billy, I'm glad you kicked that sinus infection! I had one that recurred and took several rounds of antibiotics to get rid of... nasty headaches with it... no fun. So yes, go right back to the doc if you start getting symptoms again!
LadyG, you're in my thoughts and prayers throughout the day. I hope you're gaining strength and energy, and I'm hoping the weather cooperates so you can spend some restful, restorative time sitting out in your beautiful garden.
Luckily I have a routine check-up Wednesday and am looking forward to it, LOL!
LOL Billyporter, I will be keeping my youngest Grands for a weekend, I think I may have my hands full.
Ladyg sending many thoughts your way.
My grands are on their way over for a few hours while their mommy plans for VBS. I'll ahve them a few hours each morning this week.
LadyG, prayers for a good Monday for you.
HollyAnn, I'll be sending thoughts YOUR way! I hope you can play outside. Sure makes the day go faster. And get popsicles!
Jan, a few hours each day would be nice.
LadyG, it's muggy, foggy and going to be a miserable day. I'm looking forward to just relaxing. Of course, it never happens that way. I'll find something that needs doing, like tearing into my closet! LOL!
I mowed yesterday and was bone tired when I was done. I still haven't gotten all my energy back. I showerd, and lay down for a while with my feet up. For some reason my ankles are swelling. I am looking forward to my Dr.appt. to find out what might be wrong.
I hope you are enjoying your laptop and getting things done that you want to do.
(((BIG HUG)))
A little sunshine for you!
First off....has anyone heard from Chris or Paul or her daughter? It would be nice to know what is up with her.
Chris - I will be praying along with the others that you are able to get through these treatments with as little problem as a person can have. You are very much loved as is evidenced by the posts from those who care about you here. You will have a lot of reading to do but each post is written with care for you when you are feeling better.
Critter - I hope that you will not have much problem with your treatments either. Maybe the first one will prove to be the worst one. We can only hope.
BillyP. I loved hearing about the boys in the tubs with the water guns. I am sure that was loads of fun for them and that they will talk about it for days. Aren't grandchildren wonderful?
Stormy - beautiful flower bed. Really eye catching and beautiful to see. Thank you for sharing with us.
Holly and Ric - so glad that you two are home now. I am sure that your assistance was much appreciated by your dad/dad inlaw.
Hello and good to see all others too. Take care everyone and happy gardening.
Ruby
I called an old phone# we found and left a message. Not entirely sure it is a good phone# as the answering machine is very generic. Hopefully we will hear back.
Dear Chris, this is turning out to be another summer with illnesses and accidents galore in the MA. In case you're only reading this thread, Holly's Ric is down for the count with a virus that's created an inner ear infection and has affected his equilibrium. Roses is still recovering from her hand surgery, and Critter is doing her best with her treatments. I'm doing much better, but still have to give so much of my time, to staying well that my garden is suffering too.
Allison is very busy with her new pups, Lily had 7 of them, yep that's right, 7 of the cutest little (and I mean little) things you would ever see. Maybe we can get Allison to post a photo here for you.
Ronnie was so busy getting ready for her son's wedding, that I'm sure she has been busy catching up on everything else now. Ronnie, if you're reading, I'm sure Chris would like to see a photo of the bride and groom, or the lovely mother of the bride.
RCN's recent pup, Lucie has been using the new pond garden that RCN put in last summer for a swimming pool. RCN has been really busy trying to get everything done before she takes off to Maine to pick up her mom and join her kids for a lovely trip to Prince Edward Island.
I'm hoping that you were able to plant some of the lettuce seeds that we sent you from the swap and that you've been enjoying some nice fresh greens to aid in your recovery. Know that we all all here thinking of you and praying for the day that we can enjoy your charming wit and lovely, helpful posts once again. Love, Storm
sorry I haven't been to active... here ya go Stormy.... 2 of them opened there eyes today

Awwwwww! Sooooo cute. Are they rotties? Chantell!!! Look here!
Well, golly. Now I want a yorkie! And I thought I was a lab/retriever girl!
I have not succeeded in convincing Jim we need a dog, although he's perfectly willing to get another cat, LOL. I will just have to get Joyanna interested... let's see him say "no" when she begs him for a puppy... *evil snicker*
Thinking of you this morning, Chris, and hoping you're doing better.
!!!! GOT A CALL FROM LADYG!!!
I was out weeding so I didn't get to talk to her but this is what she left on the answering machine.
Last month was pretty rough she got a Bronchial/Sinus infection which pretty much took all the strength she had. She was too exhausted to do anything but rest and hasn't been on line at all. She is slowly gaining strength and will get back to us when she is feeling better.
Glad you heard from her. We can be more prayer specific now.
get better soon LadyG... you are in our thoughts
Thanks for the update. I bet she liked hearing your voice on the machine.
LadyG, I too have been worried, but figure you might be well enough to be busy. I hope so!
Ruby, the boys are a lot of fun and we have the pictures to prove it, LOL!
Ric, what a thing to happen. I'm so sorry! I hope you can get something to clear it up before it gets too bad!
Onewish, I thought sure those were rotties! How adorable, and 7!! Poor Mama!
Critter, I think a pup, when you get well, would be a good thing. Joyanna is already a gentle girl. What better time to introduce her to a family member who will be her best friend when she gets old enough to walk. It's just another dimension to add to her personality. Yes, Daddy won't be able to say no for too long.
Holly, thanks so much! I knew it wasn't like her to be gone so long.
Jan, yes! Prayer specific!
LadyG, I pray for you to regain your strength and be able to fight your way to the top. I just went thru sinus and know I was wiped out. I'm so relieved to know where you stand. Dang it anyway!!!
(((((BIG HUG)))))
LadyG, I'm sorry you had to contend with an infection like that! I hope it's gone now and that continuing to rest up will let your body heal. I hope you're able to do some of your resting on a lounge chair outside or at least a comfy chair with a great view... :-)
Thanks Holly & Stormy for your efforts to get in touch with LadyG... it's good to hear something from her and to be able to be prayer specific!
Billy, Joyanna is a gentle girl, yes, but she's still learning about "be gentle" when it comes to Eliot (our cat). Sometimes she manages to pet him nicely, but then she gets soo excited and can't resist grabbing a handful of fur or snatching his tail. He's extremely patient with her, probably too much so for his own safety, as he tends to be slow about getting out of her way (you'd think he'd learn, but he just trusts that we'll rescue him, LOL). I think you're right, though -- she definitely has Daddy wrapped around her littlest finger!
So glad you heard from Chris! We miss you so much, Chris. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Definitely need a puppy, Critter. There are some breeds that are really good with kids. Might want to start watching Dogs 101 now to do preliminary research. LOL
http://animal.discovery.com/tv/dogs-101/ (there's a breed selection too here too)
Praying you get your strength back quickly Chris.
Well Holly, you certainly made my night when I got home from work at an ungodly hour. I take that back, your and Chris's message is the highlight of my month!
Chris, speaking of adorable pooches, I trust that Mary Chris and Penney have been cheering you up and keeping you company with their antics while you are recuperating.
Good morning Chris, hope your soon up to 'putering. Ric
Thank you so much to Holly for making the call to Chris and thank you Chris for calling her back. Sorry the two of you didn't get to talk but so glad the message came through so that we can send good thoughts of healing your way Chris. You are definitely well thought of as you can see by the folks who check in each day to say howdy to you.
I am having a hard time getting started this morning and have already cancelled two things I had planned to do this morning. Not sure what I will find to get in to but it will certainly be something that can be done inside where it is cool.
Chris - our little hillside is a bloom for sure. Seven hundred Day Lilies can really brighten the landscape. I spent a little time last evening deadheading a couple of the beds and they sure look better when a person has the time to tend them.
John has been stomping around threatening to begin hunting again due to one "Bambi" that insists on eating some of his blooms. He has a very nice vegetable garden growing this year and proudly brought in two tiny squash the other day. They definitely had not finished growing but he seemed so excited to be able to actually pick something he grew that I didn't want to burst his bubble by saying they needed to grow a bit more. I added the tiny squash to another larger one that his brother gave him and we had some yummy soup with it last night.
All of us here are waiting for the day that you finally have some energy to drop in and say hello. Again, you are being well thought of by a group of folks who think very highly of you. Talk with you soon.
Ruby
John i
Ruby, That's too funny about John & his squash! Your Daylily beds are nothing short of amazing. Maybe we'll get to see a new photo of them here?
Chris, I hope you had a nice Father's Day. I spent a good part of the day in my garden. Thought I'd gotten all of the Iris stalks cut, but found some more. And of course, found more stakes, which got transferred to some lilies. Deadheaded lots of Daylilies, but will have a good bit more to do today. Found one of my giant Orienpet lilies bent over from ground level. At first I thought it was from the wind, but it may actually have been due to the groundhog.
One was in the bed yesterday actually growling at me!! I remember your story of getting bit by one as a child, so I'm steering clear of that area until I can gas the den. Now that my beds are filled in a lot more, it's hard to see what might be lurking there. He was hiding under some hugh Ligularia leaves.
Those dadburned voles are at it again! I found two hosta where they had dug up against the wire cages and further away, I found some entrance holes in the ground. I'm sitting here laughing about the time you sent me the Sylvester Stallone photo and called me Rambo Stormy!! Well, so far Rambo Stormy has retired, but if it gets really bad (dying lily bulbs and eaten Hydrangea roots), we may have to call her up out of retirement!. LOL
Please enjoy your day, each one is a step towards getting stronger. Storm
Ruby I would love to see a pic of your hill. I have been thinking about it as the DL's you and John gave us are blooming.
I was thinking that we don't have a container thread this year as Ladyg usually starts one for us. We sure do miss you Chris take care and come but well and strong. Holly
I read everything and then lost my post! I had to go pout and come back.
LadyG, I was worried about you and am so relieved to know what happened. I sure am sorry tho. I had sinus and it wore me out for two weeks. I can imagine how miserable you are feeling. We will all be relieved when you feel like coming back.
Sunday's family reunion went very well. (My DH's side) It rained in the morning and was a bit hot in the afternoon.
It's been raining and it just won't stop! It's raining now! I dumped 4/10'' from last night's rain and it's filling up again. We are going to end up in the tropics!
I am so glad I mowed yesterday! My flowers are coming on again and I won't be able to do anything but take pictures of them. It's too wet to weed, but the Preen is doing it's job!
Get better LadyG!! We sure worry about you!
One storm picture from the other late afternoon.
Good Morning, LadyG! I hope it's not this terribly hot out your way so you can get outside for even a few minutes. Praying that you're recovering your strength, a little more each day.
Oh Billy, could you please send some of that rain our way?? It's too blanking hot to be watering!!
Stay cool Chris, sip some nice Iced Green Tea. I'm going to try adding some of Critter's chocolate mint to it to see how that tastes!
I was outside at 3:30 am putting chairs, table and ornaments away in case we had wind with our next round of rain. Power blipped out briefly, but I had also, already run the AC and made coffee, anticipating the worst. We just got the rain. It went from 80° to 75°, but it's still going to be a miserable hot day. We have another 3/10'' rain and I'm not sure it's done. I hear thunder again.
I'd love to send my rain to you Stormy!
F.L.A.G. pink hollyhocks to cheer you on!
Billyporter, We just missed having rain here. There was a big storm that breezed by us and did a good bit of dammage just south of us heading east, it was heading Stormys way wonder it she got any of it? Take care Ladyg, hope you are feeling better.
I'm glad there was no damage to you, and I sure hope Stormy gets some rain! It just got done POURING here! We're just getting a gentle rain now. Unbelievable!
We're going out when it gets a little brighter and see if my Dad, in the other end of town, is flooded. We are on ''high'' ground compared to the rest of Nichols. It slowly lowers from our block on. Everyone gets our run-off. Then we'll ccheck some of the creeks and county ditches.
The garden has mostly soaked in from being covered.
Hoping it's not too hot and humid there for you, LadyG. Beastly here.
Nothing too flooded around here. I don't know where it's all draining to, but it is. We got 1&1/2'' of rain since this morning. I can't imagine how far down it is wet, but it meets with the ground water somewhere. The sun is out and it's breezy. It looks so nice!
LadyG, I hope you are still resting and getting your strength back. Prayers for the stamina to face another day!
(((HUG)))
It's grocery day and we leave early, so I'm copying my weather post since I don't want to retype it.
After my last post in the early afternoon, I went out and had a nice walk in the country. It was hot, but felt good to be out. I walked the flower beds. It clouded up and rain was on it's way again! I came in and showered before the power went out. DH followed suite.
Rain around 3:15 pm and the power blipped off twice. We were to have strong winds hit us about 4:00 pm. That was upgraded to a tornado warning, so, 3:55 pm we were in the truck heading down to Dad's. There was a little hail and nothing more. No wind, no black skies. It passed within 10 minutes and we drove around taking pictures. We had another 1&2/10'' rain on top of the 1&1/2'' rain that morning.
It's 62* and chilly now :o) We should have a nice day.
It may be a touch cooler here today, but tomorrow sounds lovely.. 88 degrees and less humid! Maybe I can get the girl down the street to come work in the garden with me. She's the neighbor kid who did a *great* job pulling weeds in the veggie bed yesterday and even got the runaway thistles out of the mailbox & driveway beds.
She's not fast with garden work, but she's thorough, and at $5 an hour it's OK if she takes her time. I wish I could send her up to help LadyG! She and her sister (Joyanna's favorite baby sitter) are such sunny, sweet kids! It's been fun watching them grow up down the street... as they're both teens now, maybe I should stop calling them "kids," but I'll always remember her sister as the little kid who would come running up and leap into my arms for a big hug!
Joyanna is laughing and dancing around this morning.. wish she could share some of that energy with you!
*HUGS*
Nope, no rain here yet. That storm the other day just gave us 2 hours of black skies and thunder, but no rain.
Billyp, glad to hear you didn't have a lot of damage. My heavens, you are getting a lot of water. Glad you're not getting any flooding.
Critter, that's great that you've got some nice teenagers to help you with the garden & Joyanna. Working teens are hard to find, at least in my area.
Carolyn said that it's been in the 80's in NW PA the past couple of weeks, so hopefully Chris is getting some nice garden and porch time.
Chris, I know you love your mystery books, hope you've read some good ones.
Hello to all. And now a weather report from central Virginia. Hot and dry. The talk of rain sounds so good. We sure need it. I realized earlier today that about two months ago I was complaining of the amount of rain we were having then. I knew then as well as I know now that it is a good things that we had the rain we did because we usually have a drought each year, but certainly not usually this early in the summer. As it sit here now the skies are darkening and both John and I want it to rain so badly. We agree about it being too hot to water.
I am going to try posting a picture here that was actually taken last June 29. The arera looks very much the same this year. It is taken by a neighbor at the bottom of our driveway and features mainly Day Lilies. I hope you will enjoy it. I haven't done much camera and flower wise this year for some reason. Oh yeah, been too hot all summer already. I don't go outside usually until evening when it is a bit cooler. Take care all.
Ruby
Jill, I hope today turns out nice for you. The girls sound so sweet! They also sound like just the ''extra lift'' you need! Give them a call!
Stormy, I am still grateful for every drop! I can't imagine how many flowers would die if I had to water.
Ruby, your picture blew me way!
Chris, prayers for you to feel better. (((BIG HUGS)))
You F.L.A.G.!
