Boy, what a way to spend some birthday time for Hank!!! Bill's gardens are unbelievable!! Each and every bed was spectacular! If we were all smart, we'd be putting some gentle pressure on Bill to consider having a fall RU in his gardens this year! His enormous collection of JMs alone should be stunning in the fall, and his place is spectacular and jaw-dropping at any time. We felt like we were in a botanical garden! Thanks Bill....you were very gracious and provided a wonderful treat for us both - not to mention the birthday cupcakes you made right before we arrived!! LOL

Patti - I took pity on you since you have a bad cold....."your" birdhouse is still there, but I may have to jello wrestle you for it if Bill does have a RU!!! LOL

I'll post some photos from our visit once I get them loaded.

Ok, now back to some comments on all the pretty shots on this thread.....I got distracted by commenting on Bill's gardens!.......Patti - beautiful collages! Your JMs, like Bill's, are so pretty! Hank now has his eye on a couple of them!

Victor - love the new shot of the Robin! Crystal Fountain and your Mocha heuchera are very pretty!

Jen - Victoria Falls is stunning! Love that shade of blue!

Bill - that tree peony was something else! Still stunned by your amazing gardens! I'm ordering that Marmalade hosta immediately.....where should I order it from? You mentioned some places you use.....gotta have it!

JoAnn - what did you get from Avant??? Name names, please! LOL

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

so many outstanding photos today.. good job all!!!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

DonnieBrook, what flavor?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Maybe grape or cherry? I don't look my best in lime. Darker provides better coverage. What do you think?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee.

Nice photos, everyone!

Marilyn, your heucheras are looking very nice. I agree with everyone who said they loved 'Green Spice'. That one is a winner!

Louise, there is supposed to be a hardy banana that is good to zone 5 or 6. Logee's sells it. Aren't they in CT? They mulch theirs heavily in the winter. They say it comes back every year. I've thought of trying it, but I really don't have any beds with a tropical theme. Would really look out of place here.

Allison, I love your double columbines, and the Low Ho Silver with the creeping phlox behind it is a lovely picture.

Venu, what a gorgeous broom!!!!!! I want one. I bought one last year that I never got planted, and the poor thing got eaten by rabbits, then died over the winter. :( That Savage Splendor rose is gorgeous, too.

Victor, I love Shigitatsu Sawa. Very beautiful! And your June hosta is magnificent. That is sad news about Robert Popham. I love the Blue Ice clem. Do you ever have trouble with clematis wilt? I have one that has it now, and it's one that gets afflicted every year. My Nellie Moser usually gets hit with it, too. Seem to affect the larger flowered varieties most. That Silver Mist deodar and Inaba shidare sure make a nice combo. Cool pic of the dandelion seed head.

Nice stuff you've got going at your place, Patti. I just got one of those Dodecathon plants this year from Seneca Hills. Autumn Moon JM is gorgeous. I need to get one.

Jen, that Victoria Falls TBI is beautiful! I have the poison ivy looking prickly plant here, too. They pull up easily enough. Some kind of weedy, brambly thing, that's all I know about it.

Bill, your TP is beautiful, as are the TBI's. Your TBI's look much better than mine do. Mine got attacked by the borers last year.

JoAnne, I'm drooling over that TP, too! Absolutely marvelous!

Onewish1, great birdies. Never had a hummingbird, ever. Keep planting more things for them and have feeders. Sad. Patti
