Orchard Oriole
Daily Pics Vol 318
Burd, you go Burd! So many different variety. I especially like the new Warbler, so like a piece of furball. lol. Wild Rose, wonderful find with the Green Herons nesting, best of luck with your subsequent following trips. It has been so windy this weekend, DH and I didn't make boat trip to look for waterfowls, I need to keep us all update with the Cliff Swallow's community housing project. (They were building nests in mass number under a bridge near by).
Pelle, so it was my error. I mistakenly called 'Mitch' for Mizzy all this time? LOL No wonder Hack couldn't put my naming HIM together with the pix. So sorry Hack, it was my fault.
Nan, I'm still hunting for a good shot of the Blue Jay, lol. Haven't succeeded yet. Poor Cardinal with the head lice, well wish for warmer weather so he can 'sun bath' the ailment away.
It's a wonderful time to see our feathered friends with "younguns". They're so adorable! Thanks all for those lovely pics.
Well, I spent the afternoon dodging tornadoes and running off resident geese. I replaced the finch/bunting feeder with a caged one and it worked to alleviate the cowbird/sparrow problem. The Painted Bunting came right in, so did the goldfinches. The cage isn't as good for photos, though. If the cowbirds leave, I'll go back to my old feeder.
Another pic of the bunting. I believe this is the most beautiful bird in North America!
Nice ones guys!
Burd, Love the Bluebirds!
Lily, Beautiful Great Blue Heron!
Red, Glad the caged feeder is working!
GG, Good ones of the Blue Jay and Catbird!!
Nice shots nanny! love the Cowbird standoff and the Towhees and Catbirds are so handsome! Sorry your having such a problem with the HoSp.
Nice ones duc! Can't get enough of those goslings! Love seeing the Green Heron hunting. Good one of the Killdeer .
Every time I look at one of these threads, I am just amazed at the beautiful photos y'all take!
Sue, that thrush with the worms is just FANTASTIC!
Duc, that orchard oriole in the pine tree is STUNNING!!!
VAWildRose and Duc, LOVE the goslings!!!
Red, painted buntings -- crazy jealous over here!
Nanny & GP, had a Gray Catbird here last week and didn't get one good pic. Yours are wonderful.
Burd, I've never seen a Black-throated Blue Warbler -- just incredible!!! Love it!
Pelle, beautiful house finch pic.
I'm not sure who I'm missing, but I really have just loved everything!
This is not the greatest pic, but it's a new bird for me!!! Woohoo! I was getting worried that this spring migration was over and I didn't get any new birds for the backyard bird list, but then this Chestnut-sided Warbler showed up.

Wow Congratulations Elphaba!!! Thats a great one!
Congrats Elphaba! I like the warblers like that, which are easy to ID!
Wow, Elphaba, it's a beauty! Good for you!!
LAM (laughing at myself), Mrs. Ed, wasn't so easy to ID at first b/c of all my blurry pictures! He was a fast little, shadow lover.
Thanks y'all. I'm just glued to the window now!
Beautiful start Knip with that Song Thrush...thanks for the new thread!
You all are zipping right along....beautiful shots of beautiful birds again...and yes I'm jealous of many of them...LOL!
The Rose-breasted Grosbeaks have shown up...still hoping for a good shot of them. The Tufted Titmouse has discovered the meal worms and takes about 20 at a time..must be feeding little ones close by. Mama Blue is incubating 6 eggs which should hatch next week...to be continued...
Wow, Elphaba congrats on your Chestnut Warbler. GG, I seriously believe your Oriole said "Wheez! that was a long way from Lily_love's backyard to GG's backyard, Phews! I gotta take a load off". lol.
GG, congratulations on the new arrival. What a beautiful oriole!
What a ruffled looking beauty GP! Nice shot.
Mrs. Ed, after reading your article about birds and coffee, I've been buying organic but not sure if I'm buying shade-grown coffee. I just came across this site: https://birdsandbeans.com/coffee.html. Think I'm going to try it. Wondered if you had other ones that you'd recommend?
Here's a Purple Gallinule from last week when I went to Sheldon Lake. I don't know if I've mentioned this before but if you live in this area, the Friends of Sheldon Lake have a photo contest. You can win more than $200 for photos taken at Sheldon Lake before June 30th. It's a great place to go birding and you could win $$$, and by just entering with a $10 fee or by joining FSL for $10, you're supporting the park. Win, win, win.
Those Grosbeaks are really striking looking birds Rose. Love the two different types of Orioles. Elphaba I'd love to see that Purple Gallinule walks on Lily pads. So cool!
