Sistah's Reunion at Cookies in Ohio!

Okay, my sistahs...time to get serious.

This thread is for all of you who will make it to the 3rd annual Sistah's Reunion.

It's time to let me know how many will be here so I can make food arrangements and sleeping arrangements.

Right now the plan is for the weekend beginning Friday, June 25th and going through Sunday, the 27th, but arriving early and staying late is encouraged.

So please speak up here and tell me if you're coming, If you need a place to sleep, and when you will arrive and depart. If you're flying in, we are about halfway between the Cincinnati Airport and the Dayton Airport.

We will have a WONDERFUL time, I guarantee it!

I am planning on coming also. Kim wants to come with me, will that be okay and we can get a place to stay. Bringing smoked pork loin plus some other things that I haven't thought of yet. LOL Let's hope I think of them before the reunion time.

Marion, if you and Kim don't mind sleeping on the hideabed, you can stay here. Or you can each have a couch if that's better....

Thank you very much sweet one but we had rather make room for Jaye and Kel or some of the others. Let's see who is coming. We have absolutely no problems with hidabeds or couches!! Only trying to make it easier.

I'm planning to be there, but not Kel.
He'll be tied down with work and his dad...
So... let Marion and Kim have the room, and I'll take the couch. I don't mind.

One question.. does anyone know how to give insulin shots. Through these years, Kel's been giving me my shots.. I'm still a big baby!!!
If not, I'll start learning. ^_^

When my mom had to go on insulin, she said, I'll just have Lloyd do it, and they said...OH NO YOU DON'T! He might not always be available and you need to do it yourself. So at almost 90 she still gives herself her shots twice a day. The couple of times that Dad did give them to her, she said it hurt, but it doesn't when she gives them to herself...maybe you should learn anyway, Jaye...just to be on the safe side...

I know I got to buckle down and learn to do it if I were to start travelling on my own!!
Kel truly spoiled me, and he's gonna start showing me soon.

It's not fun getting shots.. moreover, I get mine each time before meals, and one at night.

Hi,
I just want to post here so that I can see who and what all I will be missing :( If monies were not an issue for Doug and I we were planning on riding there. Just take our time and do some traveling. Because of his back issues he is filing for SSD. He was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle on his way to work about 11 years ago. Broke his back in 3 places, laid for 12 hours before anyone found him. Now that he is getting older it is harder for him to do too much heavy work, so I convinced him to file, and we all know how long these things take.
So hopefully we will be able to attend next years reunion where ever it may be

Oh Cindy, we will miss you for sure. I can't imagine the pain of a back with that history....oh my!

Cindy, I do hope you can make it.
You'll find genuine warmth and real life body language not trying to decipher what we mean when we post.
I've met all that are going, except for Kim, and since leaving the last reunion, I can't wait to meet them again.
Plus, the food will be so good!!! Think Cookie's making her famous brisket.

Even though we only met two months ago, our feelings for each other are very deep. Everytime I see him I fall more in love with him. I have not been in love like this since I lost my husband. Doug asked me to marry him. I told him "No, not for at least 3 or 4 years" I want to be sure that he is the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. He tells me everyday that he is very much in love with me and that I have his whole heart. He did not like me being in Carson City at all!!! When I got home there were lots of messages on my computer. He was having phone problems and did not get them fixed until Sunday. As I was leaving Carson City he called me on my cell.

Aww Cindy. If he's the one for you, then we're happy for you. I agree, take your time to know each other better. 3 years is not too long of a wait.
It would be nice then to meet you both next year... wherever that might be. You know us sistahs.. always changing our minds.
He should have separation anxieties. I know Kel does!

((((Cindy!!)))) Me and Dave knew each other 1 month when we got engaged, But we didn't get married for 3 1/2 years afterward. He probably wants you to have his ring but doesn't mind the wait. It was the best thing me and Dave did.

Crissy, after what I went thru with Rick, I don't want to ruin this. Rick said the same thing to me not to long after we met. But Doug is not Rick and a much better person. My bestfriend and I wer talking and she said that she really likes Doug. Rick was sarcastic and always had a smat a%% answer for everything. Quite a few of my friends have told me and my mom included that they did not like Rick. He is a lazy, selfish, spoiled rotten, short tempered, childish excuse of a man. Why I wasted 3 years of my life with him I do not know.

But now I have Doug, and he is not getting away from me!!!! and he doesn't want to either

Stacey and I will be there, too. Neither of us lives too far away. Sounds like everyone is bringing good food, so Joyce, let me know what we can add to the pile once you have decided on menus. I think we will be staying in a motel close by. Stacey is still getting sick and tired so she may want to rest. We will talk more about it this week.

Janice we have to make sure our Mommie to Be is okay. Can't wait to see both of you--the others as well. Oh what fun!!

Know you mentioned before you wanted to give me a hug at the reunion so doubted you'd mind..count me in...FOR SURE!!! as for food or whatever is needed I'll have to pick up your side of the border, no can take food across...now to check and see how long it takes to get from here to there...

I've never even eaten gumbo, so I'm sure as H#** not going to make it! But my kitchen is at your disposal.

Haven't had butter tarts either, but it surely sounds like something I will like!

YEAH!!!~ Butter tarts. BTW, Jaye, Kim can give the shots--used to give my Mom her shots. Well that is if you trust her after all she did drop from my apple tree. LOL Still good idea to learn.

OH no Cookie, neither you or Jaye will like them. They are definitely an "acquired" taste and I acquired it. LOL Gumbo, love it but not the hot type. Was thinking about bringing the ingredients to make pasta salad to go with the smoked pork loin. Be okay?

Sweetie, you can bring whatever you want to bring...but we do have grocery stores here, too. :o)

My kitchen will be open for whomever wants to cook or bake....I'll try to have a clean oven, but I'm not promising...I will however promise NOT to have an oven fire..... (ducking and running...)
