I have never done it.But it just so happens,I was reading about it the other day.Yes a rooting hormone is best.Remove the trap.Take a small pot and mound the moisten sphagnum moss in it.Put the leaf on top off the moss.Place plastic wrap over the top of the pot.Pull down on the wrap so the leaf is pressed into the moss, secure with a rubber band.Place under lights.Edge

The leaf cutting MUST have some white on it from the ryzome. I wouldn't use hormone. Just sit it down on a 50/50 mix of perlite and peat moss and keep wet. It's going to take a while before you see anything.

I would also ask this in the Carnivorous plant forum!

Listen to Tommyr. He is the authority on this.I am sure he has done it dozens of times.I am only telling you what I read.Edge

Actually I have yet to start a VFT from a leaf cutting. I will try it possibly this year though.
