One web site recommended putting the seeds in the fridge for 6 WEEKS! Is that really necessary? Those who have succeeded with seeds can advise me.

Gaeseal, I have Kniphofia growing in my garden in zone9a. They have reseeded over the years with no help from me. Since they are native to So. Africa, Madagascar and Yemen, I do not think it necessary to pre-chill the seeds.
