When to Collect Broccoli Seeds?

I grew some broccoli for the first time this past winter. I now have 10,000 seed pods on the plant I let go to seed. The pods are still green, but I'd like to yank the plant and put something else there. When do I harvest the seeds?

Let them turn slightly yellow, Pull up the whole plant, put it in a safe place to completely dry. When they are dry enough to shatter thresh them out. Watch out if you have house finches , they will beat you to them.

Farmerdill --- would you use the same procedure for 'lettuce' and 'arugula' seed? ie; wait until they turn yellow while still planted then pull up the plants to dry out completely.
