Is it a camellia?

Helena, AL

Have a plant that I need to know what it is.Looks like it has small camellia leaves, dark green. New growth on the stems is dark burgandy color. Branches grow upright and are stiff. Along the branch are single leaves staggered and at the base of each leaf is where the flowers blooms. Blooms are, dark pink, small, and fragrant. Fast grower. Asked nursery about it, they think it is some kind of camellia. Picture at bottom of thread.

Can you post a picture? Or if you can't post a picture, what is it that makes you think maybe it's not a camellia?

Let me find the camera! (smiling) I have several other camellias and I have never seen camellias bloom from the bottom of a stem to the top. Never seen one where the leaves start out deep burgandy. Also the stem(branches) being stiff. Or the flower be so small, maybe an inch or 2. I have looked on every camellia web site I can find. But then again, I am a beginner. I also didn't say that it bloomed around March and has no flowers now. Flowers did not fall apart when they fell. THANK YOU for anwering!
