Growing in central FL near the west coast. Zone 9a
I've had a yellow canna in a clay pot that made it thru the freeze & was looking great until about a week ago. Now it has a yellow/gold fungus?? on the leaves. At first I thought it was the pollen from the habiscus that is on the other side of the sidewalk (it's been really windy for a couple days) but where the fungus is, there are small yellow spots. Normally I just use soapy water to control the mites & crud on the habiscus, can I use soapy water to get rid of this? I'm looking for a website that had pictures of pest/fungus to see what this is.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like rust, but a picture would help confirm. Here's a google image search for canna rust, take a look and see if you think the pictures look similar. http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&q=canna%20rust&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi
