I'm in zone 8 and this first year many buds not opening. Possible causes? Thanks

Because there are many things that can cause a bud not to open, a picture would really help :)

And there are many plants called New Dawn....from a metasequoia to a daylily....to include a picture put it in your browser, at the end of a reply to this post you will see IMAGE and Browse. Click there and upload from you browser.
