OT?: cleaning a copper plant pot

Bayville, NJ

Hi -- This is my first post, be gentle with me.

I have two copper pots on stands (not sure if the stand is copper too) which a neighbor had junked (silly girl). I cleaned the pot with copper cleaner and it came up beautifully. But a day later it was looking tarnished again. Does anyone know if there is a coating or something, maybe a clear spray?, I can put on the copper to keep it shiny and clean?

Thank you!

There are products you can use but I'm not familiar with the effectiveness of any of them.

I hope this helps.

I'd give Johnson's futura floor wax a try. I make jewelry and a lot of jewelers use it to seal in the patina on metals, and people use it on auto bodies too. It isn't actually organic wax- it is an acrylic sealer.

Are you using it for outside? I got a clear spray on varnish from Home Depot. The can is in the shed I can find the name for you tomorrow. I bought it to spray a copper "look" birdbath
