Rose problem

McKinney, TX

Hi,

First time rose grower and have a few roses looking like attached pic. Is this normal? They bloomed great but maybe this is a result of the heavy wind and rain we just had in the Dallas area. Or is it something else?

Looks to me like fading blooms--perfectly normal. Rose blooms will look pretty and perfect when they first open but over time they're going to fade and get more ragged looking. Lots of wind & rain could potentially speed up the process of them not looking so nice but even with nice weather they're going to fade eventually. You can always trim off the fading blooms if you don't like them.

I agree with ecrane3. The foliage looks to be healthy, just looks like the wind whipped up on your blooms. I would cut off the faded, damaged blooms to encourage new bud growth.

Great. Thank you very much for the assistance.

hi......... rose blooms look really nice and its normal with the rose flowers that these get fade with the heavy rain and wind. So nothing to get worried about it.Trimming these blooms is a good option for you.
