Daughters Ginko Biloba needing help.

Wiggins, MS(Zone 8b)

I got an email from my daughter in South Carolina asking if anyone on "your gardening website" could help her ginko. Quote: "I purchased 2 ginkos 2 summers ago. One is beautiful, full, tall, lots of gorgous deep green leaves...it's in great shape. The other... not so much. It has leaves but not a lot. 3 or 4 branches on the same side are dead-ish. The most distal parts of the branches are dead but closer to the main stem is still alive. The leaf buds are there but no leaves came out. On one branch that had leaves all the way to the end, the leaves at the very end are now turning yellow and dying. This branch is on the same side as all the other dying branches. Any ideas?" My first thought was wind blew Roundup but she hasn't used that or anything like it.

While she may not have used an herbicide, are there neighbors close enough that may have? Here is a little info for you.

Thanks moon, I'll forward the website on to her. We appreciate the help.

Sorry i couldn't give you an exact answer, but from your description, it really sounds like cold or chemical damage, or possibly root damage on that side of the tree. I hope she is able to determine the cause and save her ginko.

Thanks moon, She hasn't answered my email yet but hope this can shed some light on the ailing ginko for her.
