DAILY PICS - Vol. 316

Marlton, NJ

Those Bushtits are adorable duc! They make me think their little teddy bear birds. Nice action shots of the Quail!

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Linth beautiful start, I enjoyed you Warblers and Gnatcatcher.
Frank, awesome shot of your Owl. Would love to see one of those.
Meth, thier were lot of Chickadees at the swamp yesterday, and I'm sure they were busy,b/c there were lots of old trees with hole, like your pic is showing, very nice pictures of them.
Gazergirl, I love your Egret.
Nanny, lol I know the feeling with the darn branches in the way. I'm gonna have to go to the river, and see if I can find one of the Catbird.
Pelle the Goldfinch will eventually get on that feeder. They go the one here, where the big birds, were not suppose to be able to get on them, but the Grackle found a way. As soon as the grackles leaves I see them going for it.
Duc, lol, I like the quail digging i the ground for a dust bath, I say the same things for the Robins here, I call them my tillers. Cute Bushtits, they look huggable.

Northern Flicker, drumming for a mate at a nice swamp a few miles from here.

The bluebird babies are 18 days old today and still in the nest. They are peeking out a lot today, so maybe the time is near.

Shot of Mama who was flying in with a cricket she had caught when she saw me putting out mealworms. She had to stop for a few before she delivered the cricket.

Not a very good shot but here is one of the female Red-bellied Woodpeckers coming in for suet. We have 2 or 3 pairs coming in quite frequently for seed and suet.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Red, great photo of the Bobwhites. I'm all for the trade as long as you include that red furbaby. We have them here, but never have seen one. Cute one of the mom bb mixing the evening meal up for the little ones.

Pelle, I love that wp photo. Gosh, they sure are beautiful birds. Love your Titmice too!

Lily, glad that HS wasn't near your home.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Yes Duc, me too. I'm glad that the HS wasn't any way near my garden. 'Cause I've Carolina Wrens, Brown Thrashers, Cardinals with their youngs around. There is no telling of Brown Nuthatches, Titmouse and Chickadees that having babies nearby, not to mention countless other including the Blue Birds in the neighborhood.

One gotta love this female House Finch, she has a pair of "horns" on her head (molting?). lol.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Burd, at first I thought that was two flickers side by side, then I realized they 'are' but the same bird. Nice! Is that a live tree they're carving the nest from?
Iris it's a wonderful world of feathered friends only when we're ready to receive the gift from above-- litterally.

Great Blue Heron strutting toward the right. :-))

That is so cool about your Flickers Burd. I would love to be witness to their nest building. Nice side by side!

Lily, Great shot of the beautiful Great Blue Heron!!

Norman, OK

How true we need to take time to smell the roses-- or watch the birds.

A pic of a goose and a single gosling on one of our ponds.

Oh how sweet red!

Our BB babies are 19-days old today and still in the box. A pic of Mama with a cricket.

I love love to watch those Geese with their gosling(s). They're so protective of them. It warms your heart. The BBs are very nuturing parents to their youngs-- so as many others.

Carolina Wren bringing home the 'bacon'. I just set out a mealworm buffet for them this morning. :-)

Lily, your "horned" finch is cute. It's amazing how long the herons necks are when they're stretched out. That second heron is just beautiful and clear-nice job! Your wren photos are so pretty too among the blooms.

LDE, your Grosbeak is just beautiful. Hope he stays around for a while.

Iris, glad your Phoebes found a good home for their family.

Burd, cute Flickers too.

Huggergirl, sorry about your fall. Be careful, but enjoy your birds.

Red, I really love your photo of mama and baby geese-so cute! Mama bb is beautiful.

The local crows refuse to leave the eagles alone when they come near the house so this is the best shot I've had for a while.
