My variegated peperomia plant keeps dropping leaves off, its been reduced to a tall cane with only a few leaves on top.....i dont see any signs of rot, they just keep on popping theirself off.....what can i do to fix that problem?
Peperomia dropping leaves! What to do?
My guess is that it's had too much water. Mine did that at first 'cause I over watered them. I wound up changing my soil to a mixture of 50 o/o soil, 25o/o vermiculite, 25o/o sand. They love it. I let them dry out then slowly started watering a little at a time till I saw new growth. You can cut off your cane close to the bottom and lay it sideways on top of the soil and it will root at each joint and you'll have many new plants too.
ok thanks...didnt know you could start plants that way, i just been clipping off short ends and sticking them in the dirt, LOL!
You can do it that way too, but it's much easier, for me anyways, to just lay a long stalk down and let it root at many spots. This way you can get many plants faster. Just have to make sure you don't over water. You can also scoot some of the soil up to the stalk, about half it's thickness. Does that make sense? Not sure how to word it :/
yeah i got it.....kind of half burt it to where you can only see one side of the stalk, thanks
Yeah, that's what I meant to say. LOL Good luck with your peperomia :)
thanks, ill post a pic of it if it works!
