Even though I made this walkway back in March, I never posted any pictures of it! I took these this morning (sorry for the poor quality, my phone camera isn't very good). All of the plantings, minus the begonias, have been there for at least a year, some more (like the banana, some of the hibs). The walkway is 30' L x 4.5' W, and is composed of chipped marble (can't remember how many bags), landscape paper for weed control, plastic edging to keep the grass and mulch in place, and plenty of my own sweat haha! Enjoy!
My semi-new front walkway
Really beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! I spaced the stepping stones very closely together to make anyone who walks it slow down a bit and enjoy their surroundings. Though it's short, it's enjoyable if you stop and take a look around!
The walkway is really great looking....but I am still picturing a petite woman covered in dirt at the end of it....GRIN
HAHAHA that would be my wife! Actually, she wasn't that involved with this project; she was covered in dirt from the back side-yard sod project!
were you throwing dirt over the fence on her? shame on you :)
Great idea to make it so that people are forced to slow down--and smell the roses (or whatever you have planted).
Haha more like throwing sod over the fence :)
If I can slow myself or others down for a moment or two on a mere 30' walk around the side of the house, I feel they will be rewarded with wonderful blooms of hibiscus!
