I was wondering how long Texas bluebonnets bloom and if they die down after blooming?
Texas bluebonnet
Texas Bluebonnets start blooming in March and remain in bloom until late April, early May, depending on weather. They do not tolerate heat well, so usually die back shortly after temperatures start rising in late spring/early summer.
Thanks, I was wondering if I would need to plant something else in their place.
Where is La is Prairieville?
We are just across the Parish line, south of Baton Rouge and about 50-60 miles to the northwest of New Orleans in Ascension Parish, not very far from Lake Maurepas.

What a cutie! here is a place in Texas where you can purchase seeds.

Thanks I'll check that site out. Maybe I'll get some:)
Texas Bluebonnets come up after the second drenching rain. So be sure to water them twice heavily if the season is too dry.
